Simple thread; state the last movie you watched and rate it
The Drop- 3.5/5 stars. Last role from James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) before his death. Great performances from him and Hardy raised it above your typical crime drama

Fantastic Four- 1/5 stars. I'm not going to elaborate on this. It has been beaten to death.
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. 4/5 stars.
Straight Outta Compton. 4/5. I feel like they did the boys justice.
Saw a revival screening of Jaws at the cinema. 5/5. Film still holds up incredibly well.
The Legend of Billy Jean.
5/5 based purely on nostalgia. Probably 2/5 if I were to critique it fairly.
Can we go less than 1 star? Lol gahh I wish they could figure out how to do that one justice!
a monster calls, very good and sad
we can be heroes, just for one day
Kong: Skull Island.
It's got some annoying issues like too much slow-mo, intrusive and forced soundtrack moments and some flat humor. But it's largely incredibly entertaining, visually stunning with a fun cast of characters.
7/10 from an objective view.
8/10 for pure entertainment.
"Antichrist", a movie with Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Not quite sure why it's named "Antichrist", but it's sufficiently damn creepy. Not for the faint of heart or stomach by any means, but it has moments that will stay with you. (Or haunt you.) Some of it is pretty much pornographic, and some of it is just as (if not more) violent than your favorite slasher flick. Some of it is old school, up-for-interpretation horror movie. The scene with the fox howling "Chaos Reeeiiigggnnnsss!!!!" is a bit of a mindfuck, and I'm not 100% sure what the ending was all about (generations of murdered witches reclaiming a kindred spirit?? I dunno. Creepy anyway)
I wasn't sure what to make of this movie when I first watched it, but I found it stuck in my mind and wanting to watch it again. There are some great visuals in this movie, as well as great acting. It's probably one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen, but I want to watch it again.
I'll just be aware of the fox this time...lol
Yes Antichrist is definitely one of the most intriguing movies made by auteur Lars von Trier and is very pornographic. I think it is called Antichrist because the the natural world is seen as chaotic and the opposite of Christian order. Have yet to see Nymphomaniac - his follow up movie with Shia Lebeouf, but Dancer in the Dark with Bjork is also well worth a watch.
Watched an old Western on Encore Western channel called Five Card Stud with Dean Martin, Robert Mitchum and Roddy McDowell. It was a rare mashup of Western and whodunit where the players of a late night poker game get killed one by one. Done by the team of Hal Wallis (producer) and Henry Hathaway (director) and their next film would be True Grit
I dunno...it was only pornographic in about 2-3 minutes total.
The reasoning you give for the title makes sense. I figured it was just because of the witch subplot, but that didn't seem like enough...
Antichrist was actually the first part of a loose trilogy. The second one is called Melancholia and stars Charlotte Gainsbourg again with Kirsten Dunst, Alexander Skarsgard, and Kiefer Sutherland. Nymphomaniac is the final film in the "trilogy". I recently got all 3 on Blu-Ray, but Antichrist is the only one I've watched so far.
