Caught Mr Bean's Holiday and the last half hour of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on TV last night. Aren't Saturday nights meant for vegging out on the couch anyway?

    Hellboy Animated Blood and Iron
wish the animation were better, not really memorable, Hellboy is best left to comics, despite a great cast

Creed, good movie for a Rocky "remake", Stallone was great.

I wouldn't go to calling it a remake, not when it acknowledges Rocky's hexology as a past story.

I should have put "remake" in quotes, it was a little joke, since the the story followed the same "unknown gets to fight the champ" story line.

Only this unknown comes from a life of privilege, and is part of a boxing legacy. Those were some odd choices for what's meant to be an underdog story.

The movie was nice, for the most part it worked, but there was some stylistic things it tried but didn't quite nail, and when the movie starts showing nice remastered footage of the older movies Creed's indie stylings really start to look like less. It's pretty funny how that movie ended up getting used as an example of what's wrong with the Oscars.

One thing I really liked in Creed was the long single camera, tracking shots in the fight scenes.

I watched Inside Out for the first time. Brilliant flick, I loved it as a modern day fable.

I really liked Arrival, but I found that the characters aside from Amy Adams were mostly just to serve the plot. They're great actors, but the script just has them there to serve Amy, and she brilliantly carries the film by her lonesome though. I wouldn't say it was the most emotional film for me, though. It was more of a movie that I liked for its concept and its story and its filmmaking than the people in it.
