This week had 3 new films arrive at the box office. It also had the arrival of a 2nd Ben Affleck starring vehicle of the year. After his Batman V Superman did very well. So how would this weekend shake out with a stand up comedy film , a new super hero film and rated R film about an assassin ? Lets see...

.) The Accountant - $24.7+ million (Warner Brothers) - Affleck's 2nd film of the year arrives and scores big. Based on a mild mannered accountant who secretly is an assassin , the film has scored another big move on Affleck's film comeback. The film by Warner Brothers has a $44+ million dollar budget and will cross it by the next weekend more than likely.

.) Kevin Hart : What Now ? - $11.9+ million (Universal) - This stand up comedy film by Hart scores pretty big and gets its budget back. Hart has been on a role the last couple years and this year proved no exception. This film had a $9.9+ million dollar budget.

.) The Girl on the Train - $11.9+ million (Universal) - This film actually tied with Hart's film in a sense. It only lost by $20,000 according to box office mojo. Last weeks #1 film has already earned back its production budget and now has a $46+ million take for the last 2 weeks.

.) Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - $8.9+ million (Fox) - This film continues to hover around the top 10 and will try and crawl to $90-100 million. If it can who knows. The film has earned $65+ million domestic and $130+ million internationally.

.) Deepwater Horizon - $6.3+ million (LG/S) - A film with Mark Wahlberg , Kate Hudson , Kurt Russell and John Malkovich sounds like a winner. Except this film sadly is bombing right now and will not likely recoup its $110 production budget here. A rare miss for Wahlberg who had been on a roll with films.

.) Storks - $5.6+ million (Warner Brothers) - The animated Storks continues to slowly climb its way to earning its production budget back. The film has earned $59+ million domestically and another $71+ million internationally.

.) The Magnificent Seven - $5.2+ million (Sony) - The reboot film with Pratt and Washington continues its slow climb to $100 million. The film has earned $84+ million thus far domestically and $63+ million internationally.

.) Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life - $4.2+ million (LGF) - This small budgeted film based on James Patterson's book already has recouped its production budget and has earned $13+ million at the box office already.

.) Sully - $2.9+ million (Warner Brothers) - This Clint Eastwood film is slowly winding itself down after a nice run at the box office. Its domestic take increased to $118+ million. While internationally the film has earned $75+ million internationally as well.

.) The Birth of a Nation - $2.7+ million (FoxS) - This Sundance Award winner has already recouped its budget after 2 weeks and has grossed $12+ million. Nation has gotten rave reviews for the film.

In a special note comic book film Max Steel (based on a 1990's action figure) opened with $2.1+ million. To signify how bad the film was gonna do , the studio wouldn't let critics review it early. The film has been panned by critics and is the 13th worst opening film to open in 2,000+ theaters.
