On another note, I can't help but feel for Liverpool fans as well. I was pulling for them to win the title, especially considering I have a soft spot in my heart for Stevie G.

I can't help but feel a little gutted, even if I am an Arsenal fan.

Doesn't seem like a huge punishment to me, considering City have only used 21 players in the CL for the past two seasons and £50m seems to be a drop in the ocean compared to how much they spend or how much the owners have in their coffers.

Indeed 21 should be more then enough without a crippling injury outbreak. They are not Arsenal.

Issuing a huge fine to punish a club for spending a lot of money seems counter-productive somehow.

When co paired to the pittance that clubs get fined for racism from the fans, that's rather dreadful.

They should be forced to sell Aguero and Toure to Arsenal immediately. Best thing to do, really.

50million is a lot of money, even to City, and that Champions League Squad limitation has to include 8 home grown players.

I'm not sure about the punishment we have received for a number of reasons. One, surely fining a club 50mil in the name of financial stability is a little counter productive? Second, the fines clubs receive for racism are a pittance compared to this, I'm not sure what message they are trying to send. Lastly, I'm not sure it will affect the club too much. They have that money in their back pocket. The squad restriction might hurt a little but all the key players will still be included.

As a City fan, I'm not saying I want my team to be docked points but maybe a point deduction (in the CL) would be a more appropriate punishment for clubs that fail to meet FFP?
