    Over all:

    Inferno
    Age Of Apocalypse
    Mutant Massacre
The Twelve (yeah, I know most people hated it but I thought it was great. Unfortunately my liking it may devalue the rest of my opinions....but it is what it is.)
    Operation Zero Tolerance

Recent: RAFOTSE (Plus the needed Mini Deadly Genesis, though minus that Banshee scene), is definitely my favorite post 2000. Messiah Complex and Necrosha (even with the way it ended for Selene) are close behind. Most of the rest of the events since 2000 have been drivel, Second Coming being the exception without being one of my favorite events.

    Age of Apocalypse
    Asgardian Wars
    Mutant Massacre
    Messiah Complex
    Fall of the Mutants
    Xcutioner's Song
    Second Comming.

Over the years, I've kind of drifted away from X-Men (more actively since Morrisson took over. It really wasn't to my liking, and, with few exceptions here and there - Claremont's X-Treme X-Men, Whedon's Astonishing, etc... - no one has really been able to pull me baxk. Bendis might have definitly killed the horse with his O5 nonsense), but most of it's events cross-overs have always been pretty solid.

    Peace

Inferno, Messiah Trilogy (Second Coming is actually my favorite, because Cable is a bad ass) and, God help me for the flame wall I know that's awaiting me but...

    Avengers Vs X-Men.

AoA, AoX, Excutioners Song and The Phalanx Covenant... I liked the premise of Zero Tolerance, but it could have been carried out better. But it was a pretty grim story... could have been grimmer.

Don't feel bad dude. AvX was actually a well done event. don't let people steer you wrong. It got me interested in the X-Men again.

What's the perfect length for your X-Men crossover?

4 issue mini or full year run or something in between

I'd say 3 or 4 months is just enough if there're so many titles involved.

I would say 12-16 issues. Could be 2 issues a month over 6-8 months or 4 issues a month over 3-4 months or some other variation.
