That and by the later timeline of the SG comics Mary Jane is the first to find out about Gwen's powers and also shows herself to be supportive while Glory continues to deny and ignore the possibility of Gwen being Spider-Woman until Gwen just spells it out to everyone. Seems like having MJ and Gwen as friends would've worked better, especially given their canon friendship in the 616 comics. That and Tara Strong being here and saying maybe a handful of lines feels...odd.
Really, a handful of lines is better then what I expect for Mary Jane in a Marvel cartoon at this point .

    "as her friends are dying"

This makes me wonder to whom is being referred to. Odd are likely that Gwen's friends referred being the Web Warriors, Jessica Drew, Miles, and Cindy. However maybe her father and the Mary Janes: Em Jay, Betty, and Gloria might find themselves taken?
It could be that the Inheritors wanting the Spiders the suffer and maybe recalling how angry May was when her father was killed decided to capture the Spider's friends and family and hold them hostage or to torture them knowing it would hurt or control the Spiders? Gwen's was amoung the first as the previous issue info stated her world was on the first stop of a Multiverse chaos.

Also her watch being destroyed isn't new. Once more going to Mr. Fantastic or getting a ride thanks to another Spider with a watch on should fix that and Gwen knows that. The Inheritors however doing things to the Great Web that links the Multiverse however could provide a reason why even Mr. Fantastic can't help Gwen and others if trap on 616.
Based on the cover I don't recall a female Gobin like this so Gwen might not be on 616 yet but still 65 or another Earth on the cover.
It seems Gwen despite marooned possible away from the other Spiders and home will try to get to where the action is still.

That said maybe while Gwen will be unable to get back to Earth-65 (for some time maybe) some from Earth-65 will be dragged as well along for the ride thus not abandoning these characters made and apart of Gwen's cast. That not just Earth-65 born Gwen but other characters from various series also getting stuck on 616 becoming a refuge Earth in some way (like even for Renew Your Vows Cast getting traped). Maybe Gwen, her father, and the Mary Janes knowing that it would cause problems their presence while their 616 counterparts exist (or died) maybe Gwen, her dad and the Mary Janes move from New York to someplace new that would fit the rock/punk and Neon vibe that isn't New York. Maybe New Orleans, Chicago, or another place that has a history in Music, Rock N Roll, or Punk albums plus fit the tone the series and characters has while not being in the way causing Multiverse alternate existing problems.

In doing so Gwen would be around for those 616 Events that constantly happens, they will be 616 which some folks only count as important, and Gwen will not lose all of her cast in the process plus showing how the others will have to adapt when their world is tossed.

Probably not Chicago, as that would mean bumping into Ironheart all the time.

Well to be honest Manhattan isn't a big island yet so many heroes operated there yet never bump into each other or offer assistance against some villains attacking. It can be a case of 'suspension of disbelief' in that case that only a few writers try to handle that element. So Chicago isn't off the map yet if Marvel wants the heroes/characters to be more spread out across the nation then that can be a consideration.

If Gwen but also her father and the Mary Janes get stuck as well as the Renew your Vows family and other characters from different Earths they would have to go into hiding and try to get fake ids and undocumented work or join a operation similar to SHIELD that handles Alternate Earth Refuges. I know this is a hot button issue but those characters for a time could be a alternate representation of undocumented refugees/workers if Marvel and the writers feels that bold to try.
The Mary Janes won't be able to make a name for themselves as a band on 616 due to the situation outside of playing on possibly park and subway performances for money but have to run away when some official asks for the official paperwork to perform that they wouldn't be able to get unless the forged good ids and system hacking happened.

In Superman Lois, Clark, and their son had to lay low for a time being in the comics coming from another ?Earth/time? till they didn't have to anymore. Then they moved from a small community town/farm they laid low in back to the city. These characters might have to do the same thing.
Gwen having outed herself on Earth-65, served hard time, and gained a fanbase on her Earth-65 would start from scratch on 616 but would keep the mask on now as the questions and keeping a low profile for her identity and other of her cast if exposed would be another hasle not just to her but to her cast that got dragged into the whole mess.

Lois and Clark laying low still happened in the current timeline, only it wasn't because they were refugees from another reality, but because Lois pissed off Intergang one too many times.

I think it's safe to say Punk and Ham are mainstays for any multiversal Spidey plots we're getting. Also, this might be the wrong place for it, but I caught a new Kickstarter comic that seems heavily Spider based, Spider-Gwen in particular:

This is the wrong place. I'd start a new thread for that White Widow thing.

The Jackal/Ben didn't succeed in truly reviving clones with the souls of the original until 2016's Clone Conspiracy.

To me the 'soul' and the 'mind' is far more important over the 'body'.

In Clone Conspiracy we were shown that the mind of Gwen was unaltered and full thus all the experiences were with her while o tampering to add or subtract memories to her which can transform a person as we are people who make thoughts and choices based on our experiences. Her biggest impact making her different would be the loss of the culture changing events of the times that she misses experiencing due to death that her former peers experienced when she was not around. So check mark there for her.

I can't say about the soul. The 'soul' falls under spiritual and magical and the Spider-man series mostly falls under science which is another matter. Thus one of the biggest factors wasn't given the positive or negative if this is Gwen the original version soul of 616 or another version of the many Gwen Stacys in the Mutiverse born and so happens to also be apart of the 616 world. It would of been interesting for Gwen to go to somebody like Doctor Strange hoping to have this answered.

Finally the body. The least important part of the person's being in my mind. Now affecting the body can affect her and choices but same applies to other characters. If she woke up now with 6 arms that would shock her. Woke up a man now that also just like 1610 Jessica Drew. Woke up with super powers that also can motivated her choices in life.

But outside of turning to dust faster (when we die we might not go instant poof which makes the viewers not see a body anymore to care and mourn about but we WILL turn to dust) and born with a virus inside her genetically and had to take a drug to stay alive (which in real life for people with 'natural births' that can still happen to some people unfortunately and they have to live with it) the body is still just a flesh vessel for conscience, consciousness, experiences, thought and decision making, and soul. We really don't know if the body holds the matters that have her being either resurrected healed (which apparently cosmic cubes resurrections happen also but once more science vs magic happens) or a newborn life and person brought into the world.

Peter's body isn't the same as he was born with. He was a regular human then became scientifically a hybrid species. Yet he is still Peter Parker at the end of the day. Peter didn't have a new soul or mind yet different body one day yet still him.

Lastly in terms of alternate versions and Multiverse yet still count many others as a 'Gwen Stacy' and a person/real. We seem to be able to accept better Multiverse Gwen Stacys and call them 'Gwen Stacy' yet even if they are not 'Gwen Stacy' version one of 616 they can still be called and stated AS a 'Gwen Stacy' but with a difference of being Version two/sister. Then doing so treat them as a real person (for they are) including rights and respect as a person and life. If given a true shot like MJ fas gave Renew your Vows MJ who ISN'T 616 yet can be called and honored as a MJ the same can apply to other Gwen Stacy alternates that so happen to be born on a Earth that had a version one-different person Gwen.
In given a shot we might find we LOVE the new Gwen Stacy alternate/reboot who honors the past. She might be the Gwen Stacy equal of Ducktales 2017 vs Powerpuff Girls 2010's.

A Gwen who was born by science on a Earth that had a Gwen Stacy version already that died might have Crisis identity perusal...then meets up with some Multiverse Gwen Stacys that has her releasing if THEY each can be called 'Gwen Stacy' yet not really the same person as the Gwen Stacy that came from the Earth she lives on then like herself she can call herself 'Gwen Stacy' yet be a alternate yet still bonded in spirit/token to ALL Gwen Stacys of the Multiverse Earths.
That could of been interesting to see in Clone Conspiracy if 65 Gwen and CC Gwen truly interacted and talked. That felt like a missed opportunity amoung many other things I wished for.

Yeah, Gwen as a character all by herself has lost all meaning. This does make me curious on what the character of 'Gwen Stacy' even means to readers. Gwen is probably the most inconcistently written character in Marvel canon: She's been a rich beauty queen turned perfect saint (616), a punk tomboy (Ultimate), a sweet girl next door (Spectacular), a brainier and blonde MJ (ASM movies), an action survivor doctor (Age of Apocalypse), a rocker superheroine (Spider-Gwen), a smug academic (new Spidey cartoon) and everything else in-between.

Compared to every other member of the Spidey cast I'm legit clueless what people think of they say Gwen Stacy. By contrast most versions of the other characters are consistent: Peter's a nerdy nice guy, Harry's a rich kid with daddy issues, MJ's a fun party girl, Flash is a former or current bully etc etc with variaions like Noir or Spider-Asassin being the exception rather than the rule.

Most of the various Gwen Stacys have a superficial resemblance, but others could be anyone if you just slapped a different name on them, particularly Spider-Gwen, who despite being one of the most popular iterations to date looks and acts nothing like the most well-known versions. She most closely resembles the Ultimate comics version, but even then that's iffy . Mary Jane, Peter, Flash etc etc tend to at least look pretty close to how they're supposed to look most of the time, and even if they don't they at least act like they are (Harry especially).

I've said it before, but Gwen Stacy has to be the most consistently revamped character in comics, if only because there was so little to work from in the comics that they can change her into whatever they want her to be .
