Well people, issue #2 came out, the group dynamics is interesting, but the highlight was the flashback story in the middle, positively horrific.
Hey, Mark. Sorry to bother you again, but do you know, why Dave Stewart was changed to Michelle Madsen on Baltimore as well?
It's not really a problem, because Michelle perfectly immitates Dave's coloring style, but this sudden replacement still worries.
I finally read the last five issues... well, Baltimore is pure gloom but I don't think the story will end like BPRD, in a world broke and without possibilities to fix; I think Baltimore will defeat the Red King, but losing everything in the process. Maybe we will understand more what he is and who is behind his imortality (another God?). Another opinion: there are probably more two arcs, so there'll be 9 books and it will be easier to be collected in 3 HCs with 3 arcs each like Plague of Frogs... what do you guys think?
Reached this one on my reread today. This and Cult of the Red King were a little uneven, but both very good. I really liked the character development with the new members of the team, especially Sofia and Mr Kidd. Mr Kidd's story in particular was one of the best parts of the whole series. So creepy and sad.
I actually wish I had reread the series before reading The Red Kingdom for the first time. I think I would have got more out of the story with these past events fresh in my mind. I think I'll like it more once I read it again.
I couldn't find the HC anywhere :/ I hope Dark Horse will reprint it.
