Default Reading Batman In Release Date Order

What I'm looking for is a comprehensive list of all Batman related comic books in release date order, as if I were getting each one as it came out. Is there such a list in existence?

Are you up to reading Batman stories from the very beginning of publication or just what's considered essentiall "must reads"? If you do a search in these threads I'm sure you might find a comprehensive list.

This reading order is accurate but it's post crisis so almost all of the stories mentioned are after 1986 unless it's an important piece of batman's history like "tales of the demon" or "strange apparitions"

This may be an accurate reading order list, but since it lists for example "Batman and the Mad Monk" (2006/2007) before "LotDK: Prey" (1990) it isn't exactly "in release order", as the OP requested...

As I plan on reading everything Batman, starting with Batman #404, in release order too, such an list would be interesting for me as well. A list such as:

    1987, February: Batman #404
    1987, February: Detective Comics #571
    1987, March: Batman #405
    1987, March: Detective Comics #572
    (...)

The trick is getting the order within a month right.

It's practically impossible to do legally, and even if it were, it wouldn't be very fun. Best forget about it.

Starting with Batman 404 is a fun time to read Batman comics, until you get tired, but I agree that trying to read *everything* from then on is not a good idea. The amount of material is staggering, and as soon as you are bogged down in a run you don't enjoy you'll have very strong second thoughts. It's much more enjoyable to read the highlights.

However, the OP did not ask for our opinion. He asked if there's a list of all comics in publication order.

    How about this?:

This supposedly has all Post-Crisis Pre-Flashpoint appearances of Bruce Wayne/Batman (from "Batman 401"), in publication order. You'll need to select a bit, because even the craziest completist in the world would not want to read every single appearance, no matter how small. Also, there will be Batman comics where Bruce Wayne does not make an appearance, for whatever reason. However, as a start it might help.

You might want to complement your post-crisis pre-flashpoint reading with:

    (Batman (DC)(Post Crisis)(02 - Jean-Paul Valley) - Chronological Listing)

    http://comicbookdb.com/character_chron.php?ID=1270
    Batman (DC)(Post Crisis)(03 - Dick Grayson) - Chronological Listing

    And for your post-flashpoint needs:

    Batman (DC)(Post Flashpoint)(01-Wayne) - Chronological Listing

    http://comicbookdb.com/character_chron.php?ID=36332
    Batman (DC)(Post Flashpoint)(02-Gordon) - Chronological Listing

Once you are done with all that you will surely want to read Golden Age and Silver Age Batman:
