The old FF stuff is great. I also recommend to buy the run on SS back in the 80's and 90's (vol #2). They are still pretty cheap on line and all 146 issues are a great jump on point for the most powerful hero in any universe!

I found the first two issues for five bucks each! Just don't come dig at my comic shops lol
Don't forget that many of the Surfer's appearances are contained in the Fantastic Four/Silver Surfer DVD. Well over 500 comics, including most of his appearances with the FF and reasonably priced on Amazon.
By the way, if you are listening Mr. Slott and Mr. and Mrs. Allred...I love what I'm reading so far. Great stuff!

Just finished the second issue, and it was pretty fun actually. Despite the obvious cosmic-based setting, the story feels more "magical" in a sense. It's an interesting take for a Surfer comic, and definitely unique. The ending was funny.
Its working!

Hey guys, I just purchased Rise of Thanos, Parable and devolution. I'm still trying to track down Essential Silver Surfer Vol 2. Any others you would recommend? I'm trying to get the run of silver surfer #41-59 I've been told that contains the stories of the infinity gauntlet which is pretty legit. Anyone able to track these for me? Shipping to NZ is expensive from these shops.

I just finished reading Annihilation: Silver Surfer. I had only ever seen him in the movie. I love the simplicity of his design, perhaps one of the most simple in comics (A reason too why Bruce Timm's version of Amazo is my favorite). The profile in the back of issue 1 said that he'sbalready had his mind tampered with by Galactus at least once, so you'd think he'd be a bit more hesitant about becoming a herald ahain, but oh well.
I like how the surfboard is called a surfboard, not like a "lightspeed oval" or something. Somehow the concept of long boarding is not only universal, but predates the evolution of humans and the creation of Earth itself.

The delay of the SS books is killing me! I am a subscriber and I still don't have issue #3!
Why is one of the best comics Marvel is putting out so darn late??
