Default Lobster Johnson: The Glass Mantis

    theglassmantis_cover_color_web.jpg
Coming on December 30. I assume that this is the one Toni Fejzula is drawing. The cover is by Tonci Zonjic. Here is the description: "Murder interrupts the opening of a new exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum. Lobster Johnson investigates to find out what makes a blown glass sculpture worth killing for."
    Needless to say, AWESOME!!!!!!!

Here's something Tonci Zonjic tweeted a while ago:

It looks like an unused cover rough. Pretty cool.

I do wish the Lobster Johnson stories would come out a bit more . . . frequently.
Is a new story every three months asking too much?

I'd imagine that the Lobster series will pick up the pace early next year, with Joe Golem and Hellboy and the BPRD: 1953 ending.

I'd assume that after '53 ends we'll get '54 latter in the year and I hope Joe Golem continues as well. I personally prefer the more episodic nature of the Lobster to an ongoing, it gives it more of a pulpy, off kilter vibe.

I like it too. I hope future issues come more frequently than the wait between Get the Lobster and A Chain Forged in Life, but I do like the episodic release schedule.

It seems absolutely great. And on the cover I read "1 of 5". I don't mind for the episodic nature that much - but I'm really happy when the "serial" spirit add even more "pulp" pleasure for the reader. "Get the Lobster !" was so good to follow.

Do you mean the cover to The Glass Mantis? I'd assumed it was a one-shot.

Remember, for that cover design, the poster said:

And the Dark Horse website has:
    Publication Date: December 30, 2015
    Format: FC, 32 pages; One-shot
    https://www.darkhorse.com/Comics/27-...e-Glass-Mantis

So it could be that what he drew the rough cover on was a template that has "1 of 5" on it, or maybe the initial info from Dark Horse as to this being a one-shot was wrong. But there was no issue #2 for this in the January solicitations that I'm aware of.

I think it's a one-shot. The "1 of 5" is likely in the rough as a placeholder, much like Arcudi's name appearing twice in the credits.

Too bad... But never mind ! It will be awesome.

I've found that on the site of Toni Fejzula (wanted to know who is the artist - if it's him !)

I definitely prefer the one shots, and the weirder the adventure the better.

Definitely a placeholder. Nice find, by the way!

    Caput Mortuum remains my favourite.
