I don't think this rumor has been mentioned on this thread yet, but it would be more relevant here, so I'm importing from the thread about "Gail Godot...in Man of Steel Sequel":
To me, this would make sense if another rumor--that the first half of the movie is set during WWI and the second half in the present day--is true. In that case, Steve Trevor might not show up (except maybe as a present-day narrator of past event, or something like that) until the second half of the movie; they'd probably want him to be a present-day character so he could appear in the other DC movies. So they might want to have someone else--an immortal character like Lennox--who could bridge the two halves of the movie by fighting alongside Wonder Woman, or at least cross her path, away from Paradise Island in both time periods.Originally Posted by Last Son of Krypton
I think it would be cool to have Lennox as an idealistic, chivalrous young soldier at the beginning of WWI, and then have him as cynical, battle-scared anti-hero in the present-day.
