A team that encompasses the three areas: Space, Magic, Tech. Also a bit untested on newfound team dynamics and brought together at the last minute to assess and combat the upcoming threats.

If I could put a team together, and it can't just be "reform the KYost New X-Men," I'd go with:

All-New Wolverine (Leader, give her a chance to flex the leadership muscles older characters keep telling her she has)
Hellion (Co-Leader)
Rockslide (Comic Relief/Heavy Hitter)
Jubilee (Experienced mentor figure who is still relatable to the younger kids)
Quentin Quire (Telepath. And because him and Hellion on the same team is just ASKING for drama)
Dr. Nemesis (The smart guy. Also you can't have enough Nemesis)
Kiden Nixon (Because I just want her back in a book, dammit! And it makes no sense her gang has a good friend who could get them off the streets....who doesn't get them off the streets!)

X-teens, with the two experienced characters. Jubilee makes a great mentor because while she's experienced, she's young enough she can still "get" the kids, and vice-versa.

I threw Nemesis in there because, as I noted, you just can't have enough Nemesis. In fact, Nemesis should be in EVERY book. Even if it's just in a video conference creatively insulting the person on the other end with absurdly large words.

Love this thread. It's been very fun reading though everyone's ideas.

The platform for my team would go back to when Storm formed the X.S.E. I don't think that idea was fully played out before Storm was shifted to the Avengers editorial control due to her marriage to the Black Panther. Basically the team has world wide clearance backed by the UN to enforce peace between mutants, humans and now Inhumans.

My Line Up:

Storm - Leader and elemental powerhouse. She's the one the world is trusting to ensure there isn't a civil war between mutants, humans or the inhumans.
Magneto - 2nd in Command - Master of magnetism and (sometimes) brutal protector of mutants. Working with Storm to ensure mutants get the best possible chance, and to cut off their enemies at the knees.
Legion - telepathic powerhouse and unpredictable nut bringing spice and choas to the team. Working with Storm to honor his father's dream.
Namor - Working with Storm hoping to atone for what he did to Wakanda while part of the Phoenix 5.
Blink - from AOA. Teleporter and good hand to hand fighter. Working on the team as she is a follower of Magneto from her own universe.
Gambit - Kinetic energy manipulating wild card of the team. Storm asked for his help and he could never tell her no.
Prodigy - The team smart guy. He is working to restore his powers as well.
