...I want to move Storm to a solo, and it means getting her OUT of X-Books for a minute.

^^^I’m honestly surprised no one's ever made a serious effort to give Storm on ongoing series.
As a character who was created for a team, and has spent the entirety of her career -on- a team, she’s managed to acquire a -huge- amount of back story in a bunch of different areas.
Any writer would be miles ahead in establishing potential supporting characters rogues gallery and storylines.

Good team but bad writing. The same situation like current Excalibur. Xavier book with Betsy and a lot of wallpapers that have Gambit and Rogue. And Excalibur is Apoc book with Betsy again and a lot of wallpapers that have Gambit and Rogue.

In X-men #8, Jean mentions that she was in contact with 30 telepaths so I think it would be an interesting concept to see her spearhead a team of psionics. I'd liken her role to that of Cyclops with Yost/Kyle's X-Force

I love this! You are right that there are so many psi's with specialized abilities that we could have a team of psionics without everyone doing the same things. The team could use a precog (if it was allowed).

I can never decide on a perfect X-men lineup (I change my mind too often). I did try to come up with a lineup but it was basically a combo of Gold Team and X-men Red (but with Wolverine thrown in) :\

This was a great team. But I agree the story was weak. We could have had such good character moments and they were lacking IMO.

I would love to see a team going for a bloody Madripoor mission, a nod to the perfect trio that was Wolverine, Jubilee and Psylocke. But this time with 7 memebers and a longer, darker story.
