The brief I gave myself was pretty much a League without Batman, the other 2 just happened unintentionally. So most of my members are there to replace elements of what the Bat brings to the table.

It is surprising how many hats he wears!

I wanted a Satellite-era League without the 'big seven,' and found that Green Arrow (financier), Black Canary (hand to hand, street smarts) and Elongated Man + Sue Dibney (team detectives) were just covering roles that Batman, by himself, already covered! To a lesser degree, Hawkwoman (alien tech supplier) and the Atom and Firestorm (team science) also stepped into roles that Batman dabbled in! Zatanna and Red Tornado were pretty much the only ones not stepping on Bat-toes!

Other than those eight;
Green Arrow, Black Canary, Atom, Firestorm, Hawkwoman, Zatanna, Red Tornado, Elongated Man

I'd consider;
Vixen, Booster Gold, Element Woman, Black Lightning.

Maybe others, as the mood takes me, like swapping out Element Woman for Nightshade or Ice.

I'd go with Hypertime Wallace West, a.k.a. Dark Flash, for the Flash. And the pre-Zero Hour Guy Gardner always struck me as a better fit alongside Eradicator, AzBats, and Artemis than Kyle.

Yeah I have Canary and Atom for much the same reason, Renee as team detective, Mera finances, Shilo's there for Alien tech and general Deus Ex madness, Frankenstein takes the "He speaks Mayan?" aspect of Bruce having learned skills no-one knew he could possibly have.

Other than those eight;
Green Arrow, Black Canary, Atom, Firestorm, Hawkwoman, Zatanna, Red Tornado, Elongated Man

I LOVE that lineup. I wouldn't swap out Emily Sung Element Woman though. Such a rich, fun character, with the potential to be the heart and soul of this team. Nothing against the other two but I don't think Nightshade or Ice can hold a candle to her. And she's just been flat out missing since Rebirth so it would be wonderful to see her on a JL book with this lineup.

I don't get why they haven't used her since she cameoed in JL with Doom Patrol during New 52. Isn't that her most recent appearance. Geoff Johns was so obviously enamored of this character and she showed so much promise and then he just seemed to forget about her and when he did everyone else did too.

Great new characters don't come along every day or every year. And she has the added benefit of adding to diversity as there are WAY too many white characters in comics. How is she missing? Why would they give her up as they seem to have done?

Never mind. Just keep her in your lineup, please. I will buy that book and love it.

Hmm...This is new. I've always thought of my dream X-Men Line-up. Titans. Original Teams. Even Avengers. But I've never had an ideal Justice League Line-up. 12 almost seems too easy. But, what the hell? I'll give it a go. For a little added difficulty, I won't put any of the original 7 on this team.
