T-MIST: Toxic Cloud of Death (and MUTANT Sterilization!) Spoilers inside

The X-Men were a single team but there were mutants elsewhere. Thats the entire point. The fact that they've spent a decade trying to eliminate that aspect and make Mutants down to manageable number to stick them all in X-Teams its whats killed it.

Keep in mind you could argue they were at their best when mutants were at a record high. When its down to this there isn't really anything to preserve other than themselves. There's no mutants around to make the slightest dent the way they did in the past. Their relevance that they once had ended essentially with M-day and its only gotten worse. You can't fight for better mutants rights if its just the X-Men they're fighting for. That makes no sense.

We dont know exactly how many are left though. Even with the 198 there were others out there.

And mutant rights is no longer really a priority when faced with extinction. It may not be what the original concept of xmen was but it has become that ever since the Decimation.

This is no different than the Decimation. Its a struggle to overcome.

None of these new series excited me but I was going to pick up 4 of them to see what they were like. This T-Mist Crap did it for me. This extinction/survival plot has been done before and went on for over a decade. After all that hard work and sacrifice, Mutants are finally rekindled. Now back to square one in the lamest sort of way. I frigging knew this was going to happen but I was hoping I was wrong.

True enough. But how many times do we see things repeat in comics? These are never ending stories so there will always be retreads in all honesty.

Batman dying and being replaced by a substitute is an example of just that. First with Nightwing and now with Gordon after only a few years.

Being hated and feared and facing extinction IS Xmen.

I for one am looking forward to this as the story sounds more interesting than the.Xmen has been for years now. This looks much better than Cyclops "revolution" and the adv of Goldballs.

Extinction is more a fairly new concept. Even in Extinction Agenda it wasn't a genecidal thing. So no it ISN't X-men.

Isn't it funny that a while back they were denying rumors that no more X-characters were allowed to be created. Now that seems to be the case story-wise.
