Yes, in Amazing Spider-Man 71, one of many characters who decided to try and capture Spider-Man over a misunderstanding.

Pietro and Wanda were not in a book regularly at this point as I recall, so this issue looked like it was a tryout for whether Quicksilver could get his own feature (a lot of Spidey guest appearances were like that). Anyway it didn't happen and he and Wanda went back to the Avengers soon after.

So I guess it isn't out the window he will always be dead, I figured he could take the Silver Surfer's role for the Avengers Infinity Gauntlet story, that his soul was taken to the soul gem alongside any who used the power of the stones when they die.

I really like Pietro and decided to start at the begining, currently reading Cap's kooky quartet Avengers run from the 60's (Cap, Hawkeye, ScarletWitch, Quicksilver). Then Pietro was used as the damsel in distress of the group, always getting captured or knock out first. So different from his modern characterization. Does anyone who read his early issues have the same impression?

Not just Pietro, all of the cast were captives at some point or another.

In one of the first Quartet stories, for example, Wanda was the hostage. But Cap, Wasp and even the newly named Goliath became the one captured needing rescuing.

I just tweeted Jim Zub about Pietro having anything like a storyline outside his concern for Wanda. I got a 'keep reading' and smiley face. Here's hoping that Pietro gets a better showing this time around.
