It's such a wonderfully feminist comic. Tiger Girl's Tiger is a Tigress and she has a boyfriend? who does not feel emasculated being her sidekick. Ultimately, Storm's Ancestral Tribe was bad at mathematics so they defeated themselves with their own death machines. They still managed to be on top for a while and they had superior technology than the male Nambetele.

DDD, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your discovery. I'm totally for the most unexpected connections, I've got a photographic memory for pictures and I often find quite a lot. Besides, it's not completely improbable that Cockrum read this comic-book and kept it in his (conscious or subconscious) mind. I usually draw things which I later find I've unintentionally copied.

He loses his shirt in most of the other stories.
I like that the Nambatele stand idle while Shana and Thunderbird III free Storm from their pet / plaything. The writing is terrible so I was mostly running my eyes across the panels as I read her adventures. I love the artist's choreography, especially once the giant roller starts eliminating those non wind riding Storms.
