This is beautiful stuff. I'm going to check your website out.
Nice. I like the coloring, everything seems to have a subtle texture.
Thanks. That's so nice. I'm glad you like the art. Though I can't take any credit for that. I'm just the writer.
Each chapter takes on something science-y, plus some story. This chapter deals with water as an information medium, for the science. As for the rest of the story, it's a bizarre take on prayers being answered by a matchmaking system. Which is administered by this "goddess" trapped underwater. I put her near West Africa because they have a goddess of the water there, Yemaya. Plus the route heads to Atlantis ruins, so it fits the story perfect.
The religious matchmaking goes along with my long standing idea that the internet is the new religion of the world. First there were stars in the sky that everyone could see worldwide. Then, when people became literate, we got mythology, which were stories all could read. (Though some conflict as the stories didn't mesh. Comic fans can relate to this I think.) Now, with the global information superhighway being the dominant time waster for every man woman and child on earth, well people literally use it religiously. So, in this story, you'll see as it develops. This goddess trapped underwater can only interact with humans via information passed through water. So, she answers people's prayers by requesting sacrifices from others. Isn't that how the internet works, sellers find buyers, sugar Daddy's find sugar babies. The internet is a huge matchmaker, and that's an inspiration for this story. When the full graphic novel is done it involves some old gods dying. Sorry.
I can't promise when this pirate chapter will be complete, as I have other priorities right now. Though I reserved space on the blog, so when the story is complete, it will be there.
Here are the next few pages to this story.
Ever wonder what happened to Kaang and that brilliant plan of burying the gold in the earth? Here's the answer.
Not quite as dramatic as Golum's demise; but Monfils got a little unnaturally obsessed and lost everything over a woman that probably wasn't anything like what he imagined anyway. Poor chump. Oh well. Let's see who is up next in the barrel.

Some more pages... These two guys talking wifi might seem out of nowhere, but in the larger story these two are kind of a big deal.

If this comic looks like your cup of tea there is now a KickStarter for it. Also, just a reminder, this is only one chapter from the book, there are many other chapters. The digital copy is only $1. Though I'll provide a free digital copy to anyone on CBR. So, you KickStart purely if you just want to.
