It's more of an 'Ewok' vibe, where they want him to catch on with the young folk but it's just not going to happen.

I'm seeing piles of 'Rocket Raccoon' merch that no one's buying lingering in clearance shoppes for years to come.

I don't see him as a Mickey Mouse... but he will be popular.

I have been saying that Rocket will be popular since the movie was announced and I'm sticking to it. The character is just too marketable not to be.

Too early to call, but a lot of people who aren't fans are seeing the movie because of the raccoon.

Micky Mouse is a wholesome merchandising symbol. Rocket is being pushed as a raccoon gun-nut that's meant to be peak interest in the movie through his sheer weirdness. Ewok/Jar Jar Binks aren't an apt comparison either because he isn't being put into the movie solely to appeal to little kids, hes a well-established part of the GOTG franchise and leaving him out would actually be disingenuous to the source material.

I think Wolverine is a more apt comparison.

    He won't last.

He might get some popularity but he definitely won't last.

I think I read it somewhere that Rocket Raccoon issue 1 is going to sell around 300,000 copies and be the top selling book in July.

He's not Marvel's Mickey Mouse but he sure as heck is getting there.

It isn't really harmful. How many comics can they make about Rocket Raccoon? I could see Star Lord taking off though.

Rocket Raccoon right now still has that "lel rocket raccoon is my favorite superheroe" and "what drug were they taking when they made rocket raccoon" ironic like from the public.

A lot can happen in three months though, so...
