Calling a character study of Otto Octavius a "version" of Spider-Man is semantics.



Tell that to Flash Thompson. Or Norman Osborne. Hell, even MJ. There seems to be a bit of history of Spider-Man backup characters going on to greener pastures in other books.
Those only illustrate my point, so thank you! Taking a character away from a well worn stomping ground into new and fertile areas can do wonders for expanding a character.
