He would have been playing the same character. And Jared Leto is a much better actor, won a lot more prestigious awards, including an Oscar. If anything Hall might have been worse.

    Are we fancasting now?

Cause they should have cast Claire Danes as Poison Ivy, and put HER in the Enchantress' role. And I woulda scooped up Ray Wise for some stunt casting as Swamp Thing.

With Suicide Squad being about the forces of "good" exploiting bad guys to do good things, the murky morality should be true for the opposition. Everything is mixed up and messy and unclear... so exploration of "heroism" has to start in a very small place, like loyalty between teammates.

    1. I never liked Zach Synder's darkity dark vision of the DCU
    2. Batman should never have been reduced to being just a ninja

Classic DC ended in 1983 when Dick Grayson made the switch from Robin to Nightwing.

I don’t think his “graduation” to another hero identity was a good move for the universe. At the time, it was fine,as Robin was seen as a child’s name, but it set a precedent that adulthood meant transitioning toward darker themes.

I didn't mind Jared Leto as the Joker.

Leto seemed more like the traditional Joker than Heath Ledger. But Leto got such a minuscule amount of screen time it's really hard to say what he would have been like if Joker were the
    main villain instead of Enchantress.

I like Leto's Joker as well, a modern gangster with a twisted sense of humor,

I think that should been the sequel hook instead with Joker coming to Harley's rescue, telling him lets go home but he says that they are home, with a push of a button he unlocks all the jail cells and looks at the security cameras and says Welcome to the Asylum. SS2 would be Waller getting a new team to get rid of Emperor Joker and getting control over Belle Rave.

The main villain of SS was neither Joker or Enchantress, it was Waller.
Just everyone was busy looking at the petty lights.

Well, yeah. I've argued this point before at length. Some people even say that "Robin" is a girl's name despite Robin Hood, among others, having that name. I always felt there should only be one Robin and that should be Dick Grayson and he should have that identity for life. Likewise, there need never be another Batman.

I know, with the whole legacy thing, DC discovered they could generate a lot more revenue by creating multiples. But I prefer that each character gets his or her own name. You can still have an extended Batman family, if that's really important for the profit margin, but you can create new names. Like Man-Bat, Spoiler, Anarky, Harley Quinn.

    They do?

Every Robin I've ever known has been male.

I know it more as a girl's name myself, at least in the US. The UK is a different story.

Yeah, that is what Hall could bring, plus the dark humor, and sometimes in the same scene. Leto was doing too much. It was the first time I did not like a live action Joker.
