Tea Party Leader Suggests Class Action Lawsuit Against Homosexuality
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/1...n_4124195.html

Scarborough said he believes homosexuality and tobacco companies should be equally vulnerable to class action lawsuits.

"Obviously, statistically now even the Centers for Disease Control verifies that homosexuality much more likely leads to AIDS than smoking leads to cancer. And yet the entire nation has rejected smoking, billions of dollars are put into a trust fund to help cancer victims and the tobacco industry was held accountable for that," Scarborough said.

Thumbs up Saudi Arabia should be ashamed...

    There are no words...

Saudi Man's 'Gay' Tweets Earn 450 Lashes, Jail Time
    http://www.advocate.com/world/2014/0...shes-jail-time

A reportedly gay 24-year-old man in Saudi Arabia has been sentenced to 450 lashes and three years in jail after that country's so-called religious police set up an undercover operation and arrested him for tweeting allegedly "immoral" photos and allegedly admitting to using Twitter to connect with other gay men, reports Gulf News.

The man's sentence for the crime of "promoting debauchery" came from a court in the Saudi city of Manama, and was for "promoting homosexual contact." The 450 lashes are prescribed for issuance during 15 separate sessions. Penalties in Saudi Arabia for homosexuality include life in prison and even the death penalty.

I mean that sad attempt to appear heroic "I have a bi character in one of my other shows..." REALLY? For all intense and purposes, David Goyer just carted out that "I can't be homophobic, I have a friend who is gay" excuse. Having ONE LGBT friend doesn't make someone immune from saying or doing things offensive to the LGBT community and fans. Just ask Justin Bieber how much "having a black friend" makes you immune from doing anything racist
The ironic thing about the "bi character in another show" comment is that said character is Black Canary who is not bisexual in the source material (though Gail Simone expressed interest in exploring the contrary). You'd think that if they're willing to take such liberties to promote diversity they wouldn't do the same to snuff it out in one swoop.

I just shake my head at this point. It could be he's one of those guys who happily "supports" the LGBT concept by having hot women be bisexual, and kiss and fondle other hot women but the moment it is a man, suddenly... not so "open minded." The same way homophobic men (and I'm not calling Goyer that, let me be clear) will watch lesbian porn, but punch a guy just for being gay. It's the same way a parent has no problem with their son's best friend being a black male... but if their daughter starts to date him, SUDDENLY it's a problem. In this day and age in America and Britain (where it's no longer okay to be publicly bigoted) people can "handle" diversity, or they can handle diversity. Goyer seems to "handle" LGBT characters...

You've expressed this better than I could. I didn't want to say that, but looking at it, it could be perceived as a bit "lezploitational." That would mean that he could think it's hot for two women to make-out with each other but he has no concern for their right to love each other.

"You could talk about same-sex marriage, but people who have been married [say] ‘It’s the same sex all the time'."
    http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/au..._williams.html

A great ally to the LGBT community, and the best nanny, therapist and genie anyone could ask for. Years before same-sex marriage and gay rights were accepted or even okay to talk about, Williams gave us Mrs. Doubtfire in 1993; and a gay father in the Birdcage in 1996. A wonderful, funny, sad clown.

Kellie Maloney, the former boxing promoter who was known as Frank, has said her struggle with her secret life as a transsexual had left her suicidal. Maloney, who has been backed by Lewis and other sporting personalities for telling her story, told the Mirror she could not cope with leading a double life.

I think the real cruelty is so much of this comes from the people ruling, NOT the people of the country just living their lives.

Actually I think you conveyed this even better. When it's about sex, it's okay... love doesn't even come into it. Which is why I HATE when ignorant people think exploring sexuality means = sex. It's such a foolish, idiotic statement. LGBT sexuality is just as much about love as heterosexuality.
