Personally, I am atheist and have some strong opinions against all organized religions, but I get that this is huge for LGBT+ people who are still religious despite everything. And of course a huge thing for all those people coming out. Hopefully they are not going to face any repercussions for it. I think it is a great idea that they organized and came out together, it would be easier for the church to go against one person or just a few of them.

Whoa! Was there any response from the Vatican?

Oh, thank-you so much. It's drawn by my brother in law, he did these "24 days of X-men at Christmas" and that was Iceman as a snowman. I added the rainbow!

Not to my knowledge. They are probably taking their time to form any reply.

Decided to creat a Drag Race discussion thread on the Film/TV forum, about all the seasons, and periodically my reviews. Would love to see you all there.

February is recognised as LGBT history month in the UK. This is an interesting article.

New here so first of all, Hi.

I have always like comics but this last year during the pandemic i have had the chance to really dive in and now i am hooked. I love that nowadays the lgbtq+ community are getting more positive representation in comics and i have really enjoyed reading some of the storylines. My only complaint is that i feel a lot of the time the characters and stories feel a bit too forced and fake as though publishers are just trying to jump on the band wagon. Personally i find myself slipping back to older comics with little to no lgbtq+ representation as the content is better.
I was just wondering how others feel about this new wave and if anyone has suggestions of any storylines they feel are worth reading.

    Thanks

Hello Loch, and welcome to CBR!

Do you have any preference to any specific comic company?

Not sure about specific storylines to share, but I did enjoy reading DC Pride.

Thanks CellarDweller for the recommendation. I did give the DC pride issue a quick look over when it was released but i will have to give it another read.

As to comic companies/ publishers i started reading Uncanny Xmen back issues and i really loved the wiccan and hulkling storylines from young avengers up to GOTG. So marvel is up there but i do find that i like the darker side of DC/vertigo and more independent stuff.

I was always more of a DC kid, due to my early exposure to the Super Friends, but I did get into the 90s x-books. I stopped reading after a while, because they were doing so many crossover events, and there were so many x-books, I had no space or disposable income to continue to read and collect.

because of that, I stopped reading before the Wiccan and Hulkling storylines. I've heard good things about them, now that there are digital options, I should go back and give them a read.

Yeah i know what you mean with the crossovers. It's so difficult trying to read the X books at the moment just because there are so many comics and crossovers. At the moment i am content reading Lucifer and hellblazer. I might give Aquaman the becoming a go at some point. One bad thing about living in a small town in Finland means i have to order all my single issues from germany so i can't just walk to my lcbs and browse the shelves.

I haven't seen it yet but Flee (based on a true story) has been getting rave reviews in the UK.
