Has anyone else here been watching the E3 livestreams?

I saw a decent amount of games starring women (Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Control, Assassins' Creed: Odyssey, The Last of Us Part II) and men of color (Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice). I probably missed a couple but it's nice to see major games focus on a diverse array of characters.

I'm also super excited for the release of The Last of Us II. The main character, Ellie, is in a relationship with another woman, and it looks so awesome. I can't think of any games that allow a player to control a non-hetero/non-cis character that isn't a character-creation type game like Skyrim, Dragon Age, or Mass Effect. You know, one where the character is explicitly written as being gay, bi, trans, etc.

A good chunk of the chat (who obviously didn’t play the first game’s DLC) bitched and moaned about Elle loving the vag or the trailer being upfront with it. That Sony was now “infected” by the SJW plague and such. Now I get that the progressive left has its share of control freaks, but screaming “SJW conspiracy” over this alone is an utter crapshoot, if not neurotic and paranoid.

I too am not interested in those people. I think a lot of people are loosing interest in them too. I would say this was easily the most progressive e3 ever although the standard is very low. I was excited to see the next wolfenstein game stars not one but two women and the next gears of war has a Latino women lead! Very intriguing
