the creator is gay too, as have MANY of the guest stars.

but this season has been a mess. Glad it's over.

if you want to see GOOD Ryan Murphy, check out the final season of "Glee". . he's got his mojo back there.

Well I won't say it's dirty to think that way but rather a misinterpretation.

I can't watch Glee because autotuned vocals make me physically uncomfortable (also see: me not listening to Shakira and T-Pain recordings). It's a shame, I think I would love that show. I would have preferred the occasional bum note over that fabricated sounds that makes me feel like when somebody scratches over a chalk board.

I dropped Glee after its male lead gay character Kurt dropped the line "Bisexual is a term that gay guys in high school use when they wanna hold hands with girls and feel like a normal person for a change."

yes, it got terrible, and I dropped it too.

but came back for final season, because there was NOTHING else on at that time.

and guess what? they addressed every single issue I had with the show.

don't believe me? Check out this complete take-down of Kurt by the new gay football jock character. TOTALLY puts Kurt in his place, and I agreed with a lot of what he says.

they FIXED it for the final season.

(side-note: 10%? I know the numbers are hard to pin down but the highest percentage who identify as LGBT+ I've ever read was 5. Has that number gone up?)

and then there's THIS from last week's episode (Santana proposed to Britanny (who said yes), and Kurt objected because they "are too young" and "that's why it didn't work out with himself and Blaine).

here's Santana's response to him in the hallway after (and again, they are speaking to the fans here, many of whom wanted "mean" Santana back, but also agree with most everything she's saying).

you should check it out. . . you have to look the other way to accept that many of the original characters are hanging around the school so long after they graduated -- but these are the characters the fans want. And the show really IS back to as good as it was in the first/2nd season.

I'm probably a lot older than you (closer to Murphy's age). .and I always have heard 10%. So that's prolly where he's coming from.

Wow. Yeah, that addresses pretty much every single issue I had with Kurt as a character. And that was one of the primary reasons I stopped watching the show back in season 3. Good for them. I mean, too little too late as far as I'm concerned, but good for them.

Kate issue followed by Clint issue followed by Kate issue. No idea what format Perez will use (although Kate will still be there.)

Well, I mean the thing with that is just because a character expresses an opinion doesn't mean they're right in that opinion or the creators agree with them. Maybe it was expressed in the wrong way, but to have a gay character who doesn't understand bisexuality is not unrealistic, it's just obviously not favourable especially when bi representation is so limited. But good on them for making a plotline out of that.

And of course let's not forget there are gay guys who hide under the cover of bisexual before fully coming out, but if that is what Kurt intended to express then obviously could have been phrased a little better.

Can we please not take this Storm sexuality discussion any further; I abandoned the Storm Appreciation Thread in disgust for the ceaseless defence against Storm ever being bisexual; please oh please can it not happen here too. RLAAMJR, you've made your point; let's all agree to disagree. You are adamant she's straight, end of. Fine. Discussion done.

Really enjoyed Season 4. Asylum (season 2) is still the best (so one scene obviously made me smile ); but 4 had some great parts. LOVED Edward Mordrake Part I & II; and it's great to have openly gay actors like Sarah Poulson, Matt Bomer, Neil Patrick Harris and transgender Erika Ervin as Amazon Eve in major roles. Sarah Poulson is just so wonderful. Kathy Bates as a Wisconsin bearded lady was worth its weight in gold.

At-least for now. In Hawkeye his brother Barney signs with him; and he needs to read lips. In the current Hawkeye vs. Deadpool they keep mentioning he needs to read their lips or his can't understand them. He was made "permanently" deaf years ago, but that was undone; so hopefully they'll keep it truly permanent now.

Agreed. Kurt voicing that opinion is not (sadly) an uncommon view in the gay community; esp. when someone is young and newly come out and desperate to see every bisexual guy as gay so they can date. That said he is young and will learn; but I wuv him anyway. I loved me some Kurt&Blaine; happy I stopped watching the show before they broke up, so they remain perfect for me.

^ oh. .I guarantee they'll be back together.

apparently the scenes of them in NY in season 5 were excruciatingly painful to watch, and that's why they were broken up between seasons.

but since Blaine is dating Karofsky, and it's making Kurt jealous, all signs point to a double gay wedding to end the show.

and if you missed it, in Friday's ep, Coach Beiste came out as Transgender (prompting Sue to say: "wow, and and here i thought I had heard every conceivable version of a gay man coming out"). LOL

and here is that AMAZING scene. . all of em knocked it out of the park:

Just watched Cucumber and, I have to say, it is brilliant. I finished the episode with a big grin on my face. Having not watched Queer as Folk I can't draw any parallels between the two, but it's a very contemporary picture of modern British gay life that I haven't really seen explored before. Even with the film Lilting last year I found to be a different experience compared to the usual LGBT fare - a commited relationship in ones' 30s, exactly what I aspire to. Here we're presented with a couple two decades older than that and how that dynamic is fractured. It's weird, because we always seem to view LGBT in 'twink' terms. I mean arguably there is a youth orientated approach to heterosexuality too. But there have been so many coming out stories that a story like this is quite unusual.

Our protagonist, Henry, embodies the man out of time. He grew up in an era where he knew being gay was wrong, and all he could do was stare at cute guys. He still does, by the way. In any other context we'd dismiss him as a perv, a creep, someone lusting after jailbait - maybe even more so if it was a guy and a girl. But it's such an honest portrait. Because he looks at some real eyecandy. Real eyecandy. He gets turned on by them? Boy, so do I. It doesn't matter how good your sex life is (hint: his isn't, and it's not just the stereotype of "he's too old for me"), but lusting over people more than half your age isn't exactly uncommon. But Henry feels no sense of entitlement to this modern world. Frank sexual conversations at the restaurant. Grindr hookups and Tumblr porn. Gay marriage. Making out on the club floor. These are all alien concepts to Henry, who grew up in a much less tolerant culture where he would have been labelled "fag" and "poof" on an everyday basis, guys passed AIDS onto each other and died and generally kept the relationships a little more quiet.

Funny thing is, the world he despises and cannot understand is exactly the one I'm growing up into. Weird guys on Grindr? Check. "omg I found this guy on Tumblr wait where did I see him before he's so adorable" Check. The clubbing scene? Not check, but have I had guys hit on me and decide on the bedroom way too quickly? Definitely check. What the hell are chastity belts? Check.

It wouldn't work in any other era. Back in the day a 4 way phone call would be a skit in a comedy sketch show, not a genuinely funny scene in a 45 minute comedy. The speed of peoples lives, where a 1 second decision on your phone can change everything? Or the omnipresence of the police, with no-one really knowing the law anymore but falling victim to it in any case, even if there crime is merely a small clause.

And major props to RTD (or maybe the casting director) for the prevalence of POC. Sure, he's the guy who gave us Mickey Smith in Doctor Who. But here we have an interracial relationship, a very cute coworker, an Indian plagiarising student and some other guys I forgot. It definitely feels very diverse, which is great to see.

There's other things dropped, too, like the looseness of modern sexuality. The fact that relationships are not the be-all and end-all of sex, or not knowing whether a guy is bisexual or pansexual or just doesn't identify, or just a drunk random stranger who isn't really in a position to consent.

Russell T. Davies hit the nail on the head. It might not be as timeless as his run on Doctor Who, but sitting here from a computer screen in 2015, it sure as hell is funny and very very watchable.

FYI: It's pretty NSFW, with frank sexual discussions, euphemisms and naked dicks popping up a fair bit. Just a heads up.
