Has anyone here tried PrEP? I'm curious if there are side effects noticeable.

I have... come across some of it recently but it's not my thing. Try Bi Empire.

The MEN.com porn parodies have all failed to live up to their potential, I don't expect the Spider-Man one to be any better. LOL.

To be honest there's not a lot you can do with the genre. They all seem to have a villain showdown in the same disused warehouse.

And also, the villains are far less dangerous than in the comics. All they want to do is seduce people apparently.

By the way, how exciting is the news about Doctor who?

I am on PrEP. No side effects for me really. Typically people say they have upset stomach for the first few days. I didn't have that. For older users I believe there was some mention of bone thinning but that's all I've heard. Ask me anything you need to know. Here or Direct Message. I highly recommend it. Hope that helps.
I was trying to do too much and not doing any of it as well as I could. But I've had a change of mind... though not everyone shall enjoy it. I will.

Everyone have a good comic con? I'm trying to work out which movie is more camp. Kingsman 2 or Thor: Ragnarok

I'm living for all of the colors and Hela's costume and headcrown-spikey thingy, so I'm leaning towards Ragnarok being more camp.

Yeah plus all those bright colours and Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie I think is very camp. Which is good! I love campiness in geek media. I tend to be more attracted to that than dull and gritty stuff

Hello my lovely lads and ladettes (and all your gorgeous people in between). Sorry I've been away for so long, busy busy (and that's not about to change) BUT so much has happened in our fight for equality recently, I had to stop by and celebrate. It's been exactly 50 YEARS TODAY that homosexuality was decriminalized in the UK.

Decriminalisation of homosexuality: History of gay rights in the UK
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/40459213

Today marks 50 years since it stopped being illegal for two men to be in a relationship in England and Wales. It's now seen as a big moment for gay rights. This is called the decriminalisation of homosexuality. This means that this wasn't going to be a crime anymore.
    What has happened since?

The law changed in Northern Ireland and Scotland later. But it was never illegal for two women. Even though the law changed in the UK, it is still illegal to be gay in some parts of the world.

This man, John Wolfenden, led the group which made recommendations to the government about how the law should be changed

The change in the law in 1967 was just the beginning of many changes to improve gay people's rights.

So what else has changed over the last 50 years since this happened?
1969 - A series of demonstrations in New York called the Stonewall riots started after the police raided a bar called the Stonewall Inn, which was a popular place for gay people to hang out. It is said to be the start of the movement of people fighting for gay rights in the US.

1972 - The first Pride festival, which celebrates the gay community and supports equal rights, took place in London on 1 July. 2,000 people took part. Now, more than one million people celebrate it in the UK's capital, and Pride events take place all over the world.

1988 - A law called Section 28 was introduced which meant that teachers were not allowed to 'promote' gay relationships in schools. Many people argued that this prevented teachers from talking about gay relationships. It wasn't until 2003 that this was overturned.

2000 - A law was changed which allowed gay and bisexual people to be in the armed forces.
2002 - A law was changed to allow gay people (and also unmarried couples) to adopt children.
2003 - The ban on 'promoting' homosexuality in schools (Section 28) was overturned.
2004 - This year marked the start of civil partnerships for gay people. This meant that they had similar rights to people who were married, but civil partnerships are not exactly the same as marriage. Some people did not think it was good enough and that gay people should be allowed to get married.
2008 - It became illegal to encourage homophobic hatred. Last year, more than 7,000 hate crimes were reported against gay men and women in the UK.

2013 - Gay marriage was made legal in England and Wales, and later in Scotland. In Northern Ireland, gay marriage is not legal.

    What is the situation now?
Peter Tatchell, a gay rights campaigner, told Newsround: "We have made fantastic progress. Compared to two decades ago, Britain is almost a different country. All the main anti-gay laws have been abolished. We are now one of the best countries in the world for gay equality. Public attitudes are much more supportive, although there are still families who reject their gay children. We still have too much homophobic hate crime, many kids are still bullied and a lot of schools don't have an anti-bullying programme that specifically addresses anti-gay issues. There is big progress, but more needs to be done."

Today it is illegal to discriminate against somebody because they are gay, although many gay people face discrimination in their daily lives.

Peter says: "We want to get to a situation where no one cares what sexuality you are; where we accept the person and their right to love whoever they wish - male, female, both or neither."
"We are Shakespeare. We are Michelangelo. We are Tchaikovsky. We are Turing. We are Mercury. We are Wilde. We are Lincoln, Lorca, Leonardo da Vinci. We are Alexander the Great. We are Fredrick the Great. We are Rustin. We are Addams. We are Marsha! Marsha Marsha Marsha! We so generous, we DeGeneres. We are Ziggy Stardust hooked to the silver screen. Controversially we are Malcolm X. We are Plato. We are Aristotle. We are RuPaul, god dammit! And yes, we are Woolf."

In other exciting news... Malta became the 24th country (out of 196) to legalise gay marriage. So roughly 8% of the countries in the world have gay marriage. Slow and steady my friends, slow and steady.

Malta votes to legalise same-sex marriage by 66-1
    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...-a7838121.html

Gay couples have been able to enter into civil partnerships since 2014. MPs on the predominantly Catholic island of Malta have voted to legalise same-sex marriage. In a vote passed by 66-1, Malta’s parliament approved legislation replacing the traditional "you are now husband and wife" declaration in civil ceremonies with "you are now spouses”. The sole MP who voted against the change said he did so because of his faith.

'RuPaul's Drag Race' Scores 8 Emmy Noms, Including Outstanding Reality-Competition Program

RuPaul's highly lauded reality competition series Drag Race is in the running for an impressive eight Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Reality Competition and Reality Competition Host for RuPaul, which the pop culture icon won last year. The announcement by the Television Academy Thursday (July 13) marks the first time Drag Race -- which just capped its ninth season in June -- has been nominated for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, a 14-year-old category long dominated by The Amazing Race, a 10-time winner.

"I want to thank the academy for honoring the entire cast and crew of RuPaul’s Drag Race, my family at World of Wonder, and our champions at VH1," RuPaul said. "It takes a village, people! Their creativity and dedication to telling the stories of our brave and talented queens never ceases to amaze, amuse and inspire." Last year was the first time the Academy gave a shout-out to RuPaul's boundary-pushing series, awarding the singer, actor and fashion trend-setter Outstanding Reality Host for his work on season 8.

The series celebrated its highest-ever ratings after moving from Logo to VH1 this past season, and has been racking up praise since. Drag Race won Best Reality Competition at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, and RuPaul was recently named one of Time's most influential people of 2017, an honor bestowed on those "shaping the future."

So you probably have heard news about transgender people and the military and you probably have seen a map that shows 19 countries that allow trans people in their military, you have Australia, West Europe, New Zealand and Canada but i found something curious, Bolivia, from all the countries in Latino America is the only that allow them, my question is why Bolivia from all the countries.

Well i did some research, first some context.

In Bolivia is obligatory to serve in the army when you are 18 and there is no way around that but also since 2016 trans people can access to change their name and sex in their official papers still LGBT people were still not allowed in the military.

Just recently, since 28 of June, 2017 Bolivia approved a law that allows transgender people to get married.

Link is in Spanish but i will translate the important part.
    http://www.eldeber.com.bo/bolivia/El...0628-0001.html

The provision signed by Kathia Uriona, president of the TSE, regarding the Law 807 of May 21, 2016 on Gender Identity, regarding the effects of the change of proper name, data of sex and image, transsexual and transgender people enjoy Of all their social and economic rights, which includes the institute of marriage.
"The TSE Plenary Room, in consideration of the legal criteria of the National Legal Department, an instrument that transgender and transgender persons who effected the change regulated by Law 807 enter into civil marriage, without the need for any other requirement. Of the document that accredits their sex change.

Along with allowing trans people to marry they also get to serve in the army because the goverment recognize their new gender identity, still since this is a new development the ministery of defense is still creating the "Internal regulations for the incorporation of transsexual and transgender persons with their name change to present military service".

Congrats on the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of gay people! I was listening to the attitude heroes podcast about it and we really do have an incredible history well worth celebrating, even the horrible bits.

The ban that Trump put on transgender people joining the military really makes me sick to my stomach. What also makes me sick are the people saying "this is just a smokescreen, the real problem is behind it". How can they not see that banning people from serving in the military is also a real problem?

Congratz to Malta and to the community in the UK for 50 years of decriminalization. ^_^

    ------------

I went to go see Atomic Blonde yesterday. First off, I want to say that it was very mesmerizing visually. Lots of cool looking transitions and shots. The music was great, even if most of the 80s sound was lost on me, a child of those dreaded 90s The story was whatever and the acting was fine. As far as LGBTQ+ stuff...

    spoilers:
Charlize's character, Lorraine, attracst the eye of Delphine, a French intelligence officer, and the two have very fanservice-y sex. A part of me rolled my eyes at the various ways their bodies contorted, but another part liked the fact that two women were shown having relations in a mainstream film, without the film jumping through hoops to uphold the fact that Lorraine is straight. The fact that she is the main character also got it brownie points from me. I mean, when was the last time we've had a LGBTQ+ character leading a film? Now, Lorraine does say that she did that for information (which would make you think that the writers are trying to uphold the fact that Lorraine isn't gay, bi etc.), but...

She's shown in bed with Delphine again, and Delphine is rather new to this spy stuff and doesn't really have any information to provide, so Lorraine is having sex with her because she pretty much feels like it.

Where it gets annoying is the fact that they go down the cliched route of killing Delphine, to further Lorraine's development and the plot's development. While she was fridged, Delphine put up a bit of a fight against her attacker, and Lorraine actually cried when she saw the body, asking the killer why he did it [The guy went out of his way to do it.]. The two characters weren't in love, but they cared for each other on some level, so it wasn't just some meaningless screw to titillate the audience.

I kind of figured she would be killed off, but there was hope that she would at least survive until the end and quit her job as a spy. Oh well.
    end of spoilers
