Ohhhhh... okay, I'm quoting tbaron below, but this is also linked to their post.
QUESTION (I know it's not LGBT+ related but): Do you watch anime dubbed or with subtitles?
I watch Studio Ghibli dubbed, but Evangelion and Cowboy BeBop with subtitles.
Well I appreciate you asking, and it was very sweet to find the YouTube first episode. If I could speak Japanese, I would.

Controversially we are Malcolm X. We are Plato. We are Aristotle. We are RuPaul, god dammit! And yes, we are Woolf."
I love subs because it makes it feel more authentic and less sort of commercialised. But I don’t judge people who like dubs because sometimes people like to play on their phones while watching movies or they might have sight issues.
Oh gosh top 5! Ok let me think

Guys, there are scary homophic atctivists running "anti Buttigieg" social media accounts. Whether you like Buttigieg or not (and I'm not crazy about him), that kind of hate mongering makes all of us less safe. So please keep reporting those accounts.
Like this guy, to whom all gay men are pedophiles and rats: https://twitter.com/L0G1c9UY
Or this guy, who equates gay men with serial killers https://twitter.com/jvgraz/status/12...373052930?s=20
Or this charmer https://twitter.com/oh__yut/with_replies
The countless tweets saying he is a "rat" that needs to be exterminated https://twitter.com/roomba_thief/sta...568958977?s=20 - https://twitter.com/immanuellakant/s...715843072?s=20 - https://twitter.com/Perennial_Rose_/...354106880?s=20 - https://twitter.com/sideofbutter/sta...560554496?s=20
While it's great to have an out gay man run and win primaries, it is bringing out a lot of ugliness online.

This is disappointing. I am disappoint.
https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-...macho-n1142531Village People, the American disco group behind the hits "YMCA," "Macho Man" and "In the Navy," has given the go-ahead for President Donald Trump to plays its songs at events, despite being "inundated" with requests from fans urging the band to block the president's use of the music.
"We have received numerous requests demanding that we prevent or ban President Donald Trump’s use of our songs, particularly 'YMCA' and 'Macho Man,'" the group said in a statement posted to Facebook Monday. "Since our music is not being used for a specific endorsement, the President’s use is 'perfect[ly]' legal."
Trump most recently played Village People's 1978 track "Macho Man," a song that is widely considered a gay anthem, as he entered a rally in Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad, India, on Monday. He has been playing the song at rallies since at least 2018.
Several policy measures criticized as anti-LGBTQ have either been proposed or enacted under the Trump administration, including the president’s contentious transgender military policy, which bars transgender personnel from serving openly and denies them access to gender-affirming medical care, and the administration's proposed rule to expand the exemption that allows religiously affiliated businesses to ignore anti-discrimination laws. A third of the more than 50 circuit court judges nominated by Trump since he took office nearly three years ago have a “demonstrated history of anti-LGBTQ bias,” according to a recent report from LGBTQ civil rights group Lambda Legal.
Village People, however, maintains that Trump has "remained respectful" in his use of its songs and "has not crossed a line" or suggested that the group endorses him.
"Our music is all-inclusive and certainly everyone is entitled to do the YMCA dance, regardless of their political affiliation," the group wrote. "Having said that, we certainly don't endorse his use as we'd prefer our music be kept out of politics."

Sadly if you click on nearly any Mayor Pete tweet... and click on the hateful responses, you almost always find a Sanders supporter or a Trump supporter is behind it. People who inspire hate more than anything else are not worthy to lead countries (in my opinion). I'm still not sure if homophobia is the primary motive behind the attacks, or because he's a threat to who they want to win? Either way, it's vile.
And the fact HIS SEXUALITY keeps getting questioned, and disbelieved is one of many reasons I hope neither Trump nor Sanders win.
WAAAAAHHH!! Literally went to watch this last night and it's been removed from Netflix. Why????
I don't think I've ever watched a dubbed non-animated film, but with animation, it's not a problem for me; and Studio Ghibli has access to some INCREDIBLE voice actors. Oh, wait, I did see Shogun Assassiin, but it's meant to be dubbed, that's the point.
Ohhhhh I LOVE PONYO! I think my top five will also all be by Miyazaki; he's just the best. Genuinely, best animated director of all time is Miyazaki, and anyone who disagrees is factually wrong!
Oh I love the Cat's Return too. And his cameo in Whispers of the Heart.
I love Project Runway, and so tried Next in Fashion. I just didn't like it, I didn't like teams (I mean did they learn nothing from All Stars 1?) and they needed a "mean judge". Everyone was too nice. Tam's awesome, but I'd rather he joined Project Runway.

Regardless of anyone's political feelings, it's still very cool (and very reassuring), from an LGBT+ prospective, that an openly gay candidate not only is doing well, but actually WON a key state in the primaries. Is that the first openly gay person to win a state in a presidential run-up?

RuVIEW [EPISODE 1]
A NEW SEASON!!! SQUEAL! And the first major shocker of the series...
spoilers:end of spoilers
...it's a TWO PARTER!!! Come through, season 6! Now let's get to our queens and their entrance lewks. Always a key part of a series. This is the first real 'statement' you get to make, about yourself, about your style and your ideas. Think Sasha Valour's scream. Think Chad's Cher. Think Yvie's drag race car (loooooove her)
Brita. Personality 10. Every line was a scream. Her look was good, I loved the pink furry friend (shout out to Jaymes Mansfield) and the leopard print with pink outlining was so wrong... it's right.
Nicky Doll. I like him, I liked the idea of the black-and-white stripes with a pop of red (everything in black and white and red looks great); but something didn't work. Also his forehead looked HA-UGE.
Widow Von'Du. Is it fun, yes. Have we seen the black crows before? Many, many times (Akeria at the finale, Kameron, Yuhua and Eureka in season 10)
Jackie Cox. Personality 10. Already I wanna be rooting for this Persian queen... and I loved the writing on the chest, but that entrance look. #choices
Heidi N Closet. I'm undecided about the tongue thing, and the pink leopard print was a fabric we've seen many times (infamously in the 'tale of two titties' with Ginger Minj and Sasha Belle). But I'm a sucker for a c*nt-ry queen. So I adored her interview cut-aways.
Crystal Methyd. Look, entrances are about making a statement. And that green clown realness... was a statement. Not sure it was a statement I liked, but it told us exactly who she was... yikes.
ENTRANCE TROPHY: Gigi Goode. That Pirates of the Caribbean inspired imagery was everything. Perfect colour, the spy-glass in the same fabric. It was hands down the winner.
(MAXI) Mini Challenge (with wings): in an ode to Season 7 we have the queens doing a runway show, gagging us with their best Spring and Fall collections. It was super fun, though Kimora Blac playing Kim K was no Alaska embodying Anne Wintour. And this will factor into the final judgement, so it matters.
Spring
Brita. Hilariously, to quote Michelle Visage from this same mini-challenge in season 7 "all that... tulle". I wasn't a huge fan of the shape it was making on her body, but I did like the reveal. Still not sure the pay-off was worth the initial unflattering shape.
Nicky Doll. It's cute, the pretty lavendar was flattering, but I didn't like the hair with it. Maybe not so much the colour, but the shape? For a lewkkkkk queen, I've yet to see a lewk.
Jackie Cox. I love the idea, but the hair and make-up don't match. It was such a young look, and her face was... old. And she's not an old person, but the way it was styled felt dated.
Heidi N Closet. LOVE LOVE LOVE! I've not seen that silhouette before, which in-of-itself is very note worthy. The colours were a joy, and so what it fell off, the effect was worth it (and ha! "Civil Rights Hair!" cut-away)
Gigi Goode. Ohhhh, two-for-two. Love this, love the pastel pallet and anytime a queen makes a reference to racing or a race, I'm here for it. The touch of the biker helmet. This was chic af.
Crystal Methyd. Meh. Total meh.
SPRING TROPHY: Widow Von'Du. This neon hoodie gorgeousness!!! Oh my gawd! I loved it, loved the ruveal, how the hood just became shoulder pads. And how this queen is not afraid of exaggerating her shape (rather than trying to trick you into thinking she has this epic waist). LOVE THIS!
Fall
Brita. The oil spill look. I didn't like it. The blue under-bra felt very disconnected. I think she had the weakest overall dual looks for this mini-challenge. You in danger, gurl!
Widow Von'Du. A beautiful peach colour, that worked well on her skin. And again the embracing of "thickums" was so joyous. I'm really liking her style.
Jackie Cox. A far more successful nod to the past, with hair to match the look. Very lovely.
Heidi N Closet. Well... I did enjoy it, and I like how she embraces very different silhouettes each time. Different is good, and I like it.
Gigi Goode. WINNER! Boy BDSM horse jocky realness. It was giving me Davina deCampo's horsey goodness in "Day at the Races"
Crystal Methyd. This was SO GOOD! I've never seen a fashionable Freddy Kruger look everrrrrrrr, it was hilarious and cool all at once. The use of plasters as the hair was such a brilliant touch.
FALL TROPHY:Nicky Doll. I mean this was beautiful. It was French, arty, clever, the monocle was a delicious touch with the white hair. Yas kweeeen! It was effortlessly beautiful.
Now to the main event: a rap to "I'm That B*tch" where the queens have to do the choreography! WHAT??? This is a lot for the first challenge; and I couldn't be happier. AND there are only 7 queens for the first episode! Oh I'm here for this, it's fantastic. I love getting the chance to really know all the queens, and give them a chance to truly shine (or not). The choreography period was a bit of a car-crash, but with them not knowing each other, and the need to shine, I understand why.
MAIN CHALLENGE: I'M THAT B*TCH
Brita. I didn't love the outfit, it didn't give me 'bad b*tch', it was very basic. And it looked like she forgot the words.
Nicky Doll. One of my favourite outfits in the rap (cutesy but very fun); sadly she looked awkward in background moments, and her lyrics were forgettable.
Crystal Methyd. I hate the pink leopard print; esp. because WE ALREADY SAW THAT OVERUSED PRINT THIS EPISODE in Heidi's entrance look. Why did she pick that, knowing someone else had already worn it that episode??? But I liked the lyrics.
Gigi Goode. Slayyyyyyyed! Her lyrics were so fun, and arguably the clearest (I heard every word) and she brought such fun and joy to the rap. Her look was meh. The combo of leopard and pink is fantastic, but the overall outfit wasn't anything to get excited about.
Heidi N Closet. I hated this look, my least favourite of the episode? But Heidi did a great job with the moves, but I felt the acrobatics got a little out of hand. A little too much, and so the lipsync got lost.
Jackie Cox. I loved the idea of the look, but the boobs (at points) looked too fake (I know, I know), but they bounced very oddly, and needed taping down. That said Jackie was a joy to watch, she was campy and silly and had me chuckling even when not rapping and just in the background. Good lyrics too.
B*TCH TROPHY: Widow Von'Du. She won this hands down; her epic shoulder pads and neon goodness! And those moves and lyrics, absolutely nailed it! Best look, best moves, and an energy that was infectious.
TO BE CONTINUED...

An interesting article from the New Yorker on Buttigeig's sexuality and how various LGBT+ people perceive it. I feel Masha is maybe a little harsh on him not coming out sooner, and not being "cutting edge LGBT+" but I also understand where Masha is coming from (who is non-binary, I'm not sure if Masha uses them/they, so I'm trying not to use any gender pronouns, if we could all respect that -- that would be great... Vegan Daddy please respect that). Masha fought in Russia against oppressive LGBT+ laws and ultimately cost Masha work. So feeling Mayor Pete took a safer root might rub Masha the wrong way.
And it got me thinking... what are your views on the obligations of famous LGBT+ people to come out? I'm torn on the matter. On the one hand I feel celebrities (in western countries) should come out, they aren't relying on others for money, and can be self-sufficient so it's almost an obligation to give hope and pride to LGBT+ kids across the world who do not have that opportunity. On the other hands it shouldn't be anyone's business. But that also comes with a certain privilege that doesn't help the masses.
We hear a lot about the stars in Hollywood who are in the closet (several openly gay actors have hinted at the far more prolific number than the public realise; I know for a fact of two huge stars who are gay). And when we look at certain sports, there is such a closet (football and baseball, for example). Thoughts?
"We are Shakespeare. We are Michelangelo. We are Tchaikovsky. We are Turing. We are Mercury. We are Wilde. We are Lincoln, Lorca, Leonardo da Vinci. We are Alexander the Great. We are Fredrick the Great. We are Rustin. We are Addams. We are Marsha! Marsha Marsha Marsha! We so generous, we DeGeneres. We are Ziggy Stardust hooked to the silver screen. I dont really agree with you that celebrities should come out or have an obligation to give hope and pride to others. Some people are not comfortable with their sexuality and coming out is very hard for some people. It was hard for me even though I had very supportive parents who knew I was gay and told me several times it was okay before I came out. And I dont have the pressure of being in the public spotlight or having my life on camera all the time. If someone famous is gay and wants to come out and be a role model that is great. But if they are gay and want to keep that private that is okay as well. No one, famous or not is under an obligation to be a role model or flag bearer for anyone else.
This Post Contains No Artificial Intelligence. It Contains No Human Intelligence Either.
Well firstly, to be clear, I did give both sides of the arguement, and was very much not 100% in the camp of "they should always come out, always, everytime."
I agree coming out is a very different issue for everyone, with it's own minefield of damage/trauma/fears/doubts. There isn't going to be one universal rule. BUT... I think the celebrities who aren't coming out for career reasons is not the same as "their own personal demons." Once you've made your first million, if greed (financial or career) is the reason to not come out, rather than your own struggles... is that right?
For sport (for example); once you get to the big leagues (even if not "the star") shouldn't you come out? It would help so many kids, so so many LGBT+ kids. To help normalise it. To help inspire. Kids in small towns where they don't necessarily know anyone who's gay, to see someone "like them" would be very powerful. And surely that good trumps "I have all this money and fame, but I wanna get a little more". Which IS NOT the only reason stars don't come out. But fear of career damage, rather than the struggle of first admitting it to yourself... isn't the same thing.
Then again you are right, no-one is obligated to be a role model; nor does it mean they are a bad person if they don't want to be. It's an interesting one.
