I don't know that it should be one last Sandman tale. I think there are a lot of good Sandman tales to be told. The Sandman Mystery Theatre was one of my favorite books!

My favorite of the Seven Soldiers (not a series I loved). I was sorry she went straight to comic book limbo!

I'd want the whole team brought back (with of course some reinvention).

Instead of always having Captain Marvel/SHAZAM play second to Superman on JL, I wish he would put together his own League using characters from that universe.
    .... a revamped Shazam's Squadron of Justice!

DC should stop after-thought attaching Billy Batson/Shazam to the already established JL where he'll always be second to Superman and answering to Batman,
It does not help elevate him, it never will, it downgrades him.
He should always be the champion of his own group ... Give him his own team back!

    Obscure?
Not sure what you mean by "Starting with" ?
The Marvel Family / SHAZAMily have a pretty strong current ongoing presence, and their own book (even just had a movie), and just unleashed the Monster Society... as far as:

"OBSCURE CHARACTER THAT WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE SEEN AGAIN WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE GET A BOOK"

Compared to his team I'm talking about., so not sure how you agree?
Or how you're calling SHAZAM and Family with all it's ongoing goodness, obscure right now?

    Obscure?

Sadly at this point he counts as obscure.
He was in the recent Stargirl JSA lineup, so he could get a flashback nod, or a legacy nod.

Should be used as an opening to a whole pulp universe.

Also we lost the opportunity for Del Toro on JL Dark
Put him on the Sandman Movie

On that note I would go with Judomaster. With Taskmaster and Sportsmaster, it seems like everyone forgot Judomaster exists.

Oops - that should have been "Pieter" Cross. .... and I don't think we've seen him rebooted have we? I feel like anything JSA related has been in limbo.

I don't know about an on-going, but I would love to see a really good, REALLY in depth maxi series done on Terry Sloane, aka the original Mr. Terrific!

What's the connection between Sandman (Wagner) and Sandman (Geiman) in story? Could someone explain?

The gist of it is, that back in 1916 when the god of dreams, Morpheus (Gaimen’s Sandman) was captured, this affected dreams all across the universe. Basically, the way we dream now, was not the way dreams were before 1916. This dream anomaly particularly affected Wesley Dodds (Wagner’s Sandman) dreaming. So that when he was an adult he started the initiative to go out and fight crime using a gas mask (Sandman Mystery Theater) that is a deja vu thing for him, but it actually looks like Morpheus’s Dream helmet.

This is all a pretty condensed summary but I hope it helps. Just remember that in real life the Wesley Dodds Sandman was created first in the 1939, while the Morpheus Sandman is a retcon created in 1989.

Gaiman’s series is about his 1989 created character, Morpheus, the god of Dreams, and the titular Sandman. Wagner’s series is a reimagining of the 1930s-1940s classic mystery man Wesley Dodds series but told through a modern lens.
