Too bad they got rid of him unceremoniously in Kate's "Manhunter" series.
He was “resurrected” in the 52 week Trinity series which Busiek wrote. He came back as a character named Swashbuckler. I have no idea if that series is in continuity. Then again, I have little idea about anything in continuity at DC.

Is she the same one who was in the Batman Beyond's future JLU?

LOL Edit: I might just be mixing
Marquez , Lorena which sounded a bit like the latin Marina.

The original Judomaster is someone I'd like to see get a mini or an arc in something like Brave and the Bold. Crimson Fox, both of them. Sadly, I think they're both still dead. Lady Quark. Captain Comet. That Chief Max? on Hardcore station, or rather the Station itself, with him as a character. Not as obscure, but perhaps Captain Atom. I'm not sure he'll be getting a mini any time soon.

The character concept is super cool, which is why I think so many people have tried to revamp/re-use the character over the decades. Some writer(s) out there think she's cool and will use her.

For me: Savant & Creote from Birds of Prey (I know Savant was killed off in N52 Suicide Squad)

    Iron Munro, Silver Scarab

Bendis is already using Rose/Thorn, but I think it's the Forrest version.

The Canton version probably won't be used again except in one page flashbacks for Alan, Jade, and Obsidian now that they're back probably.

    Katherine Webb-Kane: Batwoman

She would have made a great Bronze Age Batwoman.

It seems like they went with an entirely new version. From wikipedia:

Black Orchid appears in the animated film Justice League Dark, voiced by Colleen Villard.[19][20] This version is depicted as a manifestation of the House of Mystery's magical aura with a desire to experience human nature. As a result of that experiment, she and Deadman form a bond and eventually join each other as kindred spirits.

So there are now three versions of Black Orchid? How many of Rose & Thorn? Is that a good or a bad thing?
Reinvention is important, heck Batman has been doing it since the 1939, to stay current.
Sometimes I wonder if so much legacy reinvention, makes it even harder for the more obscure characters to catch on.
Instead of bringing the (even if few) fans that were there from the original all along, they try and replace them, instead of building to having old and new fans together, they now have a divided fan base.
So does the next writer have to choose which Black Orchid should I use? Is the logic I can't chose one without upsetting the other, ...heck i'll just make my own.
Does this help, or dilute what is considered an obscure character?
