They don't but had the freedom to use him and yet kept coming up with lie after lie to not use him. Then the final insult was him on Justice League Unlimited cover until he got Cassandra Cain off it.

They are determine to toss out whatever doesn't work or was badly thought of yet everything that does work including a lot of the guys mentioned here sit and rot.

Does Archie have to overtake DC or more obscure properties at Marvel have to succeed before they figure it out?

I don't understand what you mean there. Do you KNOW they were planning to use him and then decided they didn't want to, or could it be that they were thinking of possibly including him at some point but were then told they wouldn't be able to because of Milestone's possible plans?

A character whose look and concept was so unique, bizarrely off the norm, and so much it's own thing, it always seemed out of place.
He never quite took-off mainstream, and like his billowy sleeves, kataginu shoulders, bizarre ankle gear(armor)? and unique weapons "bundi dagger". throwing stars, mostly he just existed on the fringe of DC pantheon.
And that's how they should keep and use him.

All the attempts at reinvention, consolidating with previous versions, retweeking, retconning, "fixing" & "updating", the character so he fit in better, just seemed to take away from his original uniqueness.
He should just continue to randomly show up as is, no explanation, be the guy nobody really knows anything about, just appears and disappears, like WTF who was that!? No explanation to his motives, to his bizarre costume, weapons, nothing.

There are two DC stories that I think cry out to be adopted in film:

    One is the Goodwin/Simonson Manhunter.

The other is the Hawkworld graphic novel.

    Probably won't see either.

Wouldn't mind seeing a Power Company (with Manhunter, natch) comic.

    Just missing Minute Man.
Been waiting for a comic to feature them as a real team.
"History of the DC Universe" by Wolfman and Perez, when the DCU use to make sense.

Loved him and Dawn too but I think they would need to redesign him.

I wouldn't mind seeing another Young Heroes in Love title. That book was one of the few teen team superhero books that I liked as a kid. That, Young Justice, and Runaways.

Would like to see The Heckler even if just for a one-shot. Triumph too, for some reason.

I can't remember her name. She had some light and psychic powers. She was introduced in Joe Kelly's JLA run, I think.

Champions of Angor. They're DC's answer to Squadron Supreme.

    Freedom Fighters.
