So is that definitely Donna on the cover? Or is that speculation on the part of this article's writer?

Can't wait for this. I'm not bothered by the cover at all, considering the character's history with bondage and sexual themes. She's always seemed neutered without them, honestly. A book catering to the male gaze with cheesecake isn't automatically a bad book, it all depends on the execution. Like it or not, Wonder Woman was in part inspired by her author's sexual fantasies, and it really is time those ideas were tackled head on instead of brushed aside.

She also doesn't look distressed in that cover. She's bound, but that look on her face shows a confidence that she can break out of it very easily. I am a little worried about the Amazons being villified, but from what we know we're going to see their past and motivations. Their closed mindedness against men needs to be called out on, but hopefully this book will do that without ignoring their perspective and understandable (if misguided) motivations.

The solicits does refer to the outside world as the "world that wronged them" so that's hopeful.

Personally, I'd have shown her breaking the chains.

I can see why they'd think it was her due to the stars on the outfit. But I always imagined Donna would look much younger at this point, considering Diana should be fairly young herself (early 20s max).

Of course this is Donna we're talking about, so who the hell knows what's gonna happen.

    Hi everybody,

    Just a note.

Morrison is very clear that his book has a strong sexual slant. In his interview, he uses sexual terminology. WW is a fun book. And there is nothing wrong with sex and fun in the same sentence. However, please make sure that you don't use slang terminology and that you do not stray from the subject at hand. This IS an all ages board.

Any posts that use slang terminology will be removed in their entirety. As will any posts that veer toward the salacious.

    Have fun and enjoy.

    Totally agree.

Its not the pose of a superhero? Whats that? Hands on hips and legs three feet apart? Punching somebody? Hyper masculine goodiness.

The writer has already said there is no hero throwdown in this book. Its not about fights which means its already breaking a paradigm. Sure could show her angry and defiant but why would she be? Shes among her friends and family and knows right is on her side. The comic seems to be about changing minds, not breaking noses.

Sometimes the best way to break chains is to show those who put them there that they aren't needed.

If you break the chains you set yourself free. If you get the other party to remove them willingly you set EVERYONE free

Wow, that's actually an awesome way of putting it. Certainly a good way to sum up Wonder Woman.

Of course, I still wanna see a superhero throwdown. Maybe in one of the later books.

I'm sure this book will be great, but I'm not too hot on Paquette's WW. Then again, Chiang kind of spoiled me.

IKR. Nothing will ever top Chiang's WW as far as I'm concerned. Paquette's skews a bit pornographic which I'm not sure is the right look for this particular story, it's looking more male-sex-fantasy-ish than anything else

Its about time. Wonder Woman hasn't been around for 75 years for nothing. This should help keep her around for 75 more. Miss Universe face, pinup girl body and can kick ass like Superman. Oh, yeah...

Not feeling the face. Wish the boobs were a bit smaller as well. I do like the change from the Eagle to a dove.

So Cassie and Donna are part of this, nice.

No, I dont get the complaints about this cover. Diana is posed more or less like a statue, she's not leaning forwards and her outfit is not about to fall off. And as if she was a statue, it looks like someone just added the chain afterwards as somekind of statement.
