Yeah, I'm pretty lukewarm on Soule's run so far. Which is a shame, because he wrote a spectacularly charming Matt Murdock in a couple of issues of his recent She Hulk series.
I've read bits and pieces of Slott's run. He's responsible for that famous Spider-Man vs. J. Jonah Jameson courtroom scene, isn't he? I need to get the whole lot.
I read the first couple issues. They didn't interest me enough to bother with any more.
Hello,
Quick Intro: MatchstickJohnny is my screen name. The funny thing is my name is not even Johnny. Kind of a rip off aint it? I actually sort of randomly selected it years ago after reading Claremont and Larroca's Fantastic Four Alternate Negative Zone story (issue 17-18). I have always been a Marvel Comics reader but have enough DC knowledge to survive. Without telling my age, my Marvel Comics history began with Marvel Tales Spider-Man and when I decided to start collecting comics Spider-Man seemed to be the obvious choice to collect. I started around the time Secret Wars was ending and Secret Wars II was beginning. I missed the introduction and the ending of the black suit (ASM 252-258) but was able to buy them as back issues from this incredible wonderland of a comic store that sold back issues! It was 1984 and a whole new world had just opened up for me. I began building my back issue collection but also picked up new releases as well. And the rest is history…..
I'm Perry, early 30s, been a comic book fan ever since I began watching the Batman, X-Men, and Spider-Man animated shows of the 90s. Since then, I've mostly been a Marvel junkie, but some DC stuff here and there. I lurked in the old CBR from time to time. I hadn't been back in a while, at least not to the forums. Was mostly just reading articles.
I'm from Chicago but I've spent the past eight years living and working in Japan as a teacher. I'm also a published author. Most of my work is writing prose fiction—pulp-style action/adventure and superheroes. I have done some comic book writing and lettering as well, and I do editing and design work for other authors. I also write the occasional article over at WhatCulture.
These days, I'm almost exclusively Marvel. Loving All-New All-Different Avengers and the X-books so far, those are the titles that go to the top of my list.
Hey guys.
Not much to say about myself really, but I thought I'd introduce myself anyway. So yeah, I'm a fan of DC and Marvel comics, but I read more Marvel. I love what they're doing over at Marvel Studios with the MCU. Those guys are great. I'm looking forward to the DC Extended Universe (I think that's what they're calling it) too. Hopefully that goes well. A couple of years ago, I made the decision to go digital when it came buying single issues, but I collect trades of the series I'm digging just to, you know, own hard copies of the books. And yeah. This place seems kind of cool, so I thought I'd kick it around here for awhile. [insert smiley face emoji]

Hello. I wasn't planning on posting in this thread, but it became necessary because I think this is the best place for me to say thank you. A short time ago I asked for help to find my avatar from before the CBR reboot. Not only did I receive what I wanted, but it happened much faster than I expected. As you can tell from my name and probably from most of my posts, I'm a big fan of The Fox and The Crow, with the emphasis on The Crow. I'll try not to be too overbearing about that subject. It's obvious that the superheroes and supervillains get most of the attention. But please don't forget the more lighthearted characters. :-)
hi hero talk here I came to cbr because I love comics my favorite hero is batman my favorite team is batman and superman and I'm really happy to be able to talk to people who like comics to
Hi guys,
I'm an X-Men fan who grew up on way too much Claremont. My particular interest is with Storm. Although I've been a reader of comics my whole life, I had never joined such a community, so I'm excited to start talking with you guys. I was born and raised in France, but I'm currently based in London.
I am a comics fan since Dick Giordano penned Wonder Woman. I used to be a regular in CBR until my daughters came along. (One of you actually predicted the exact day my first daughter was born, but I think he meant it in jest.) I still love reading old issues of CrossGen Comics (especially Way of the Rat, the First, Negation and Meridian) and More than Mortal, but I'm currently interested in the Marvel Universe. I live in North Florida and work as nurse specialist for the DoH.
man, getting back into the swing of forums after several years off of it. was checking out CBR and saw this so figured what the heck?
