Hello everyone! I'm Samantha.
I'm very happy that I found this Forum. All week I've been trying to find a Comic Forum and this one was the most appealing to me out of the other ones that I came across. Read comics when I was younger and I'd like to get back into them again. I miss reading comics. I was at Barnes N Nobles not to long ago. There was so many and I had no idea which one to get. So I decided to join here hoping people would know what comic books are the best to purchase. I look forward to meeting everyone on here. Very happy to be a member here. I'm here to stay!! <3
Hey everyone, I'm new here and haven't made a welcome post like I usually do on other forums (I'm on music forums mostly, which is beside the point.) I wasn't sure where to put this so I just put it here? Sorry if this is in the wrong place (mods, please move this if I did this wrong.)
I'm pretty new to comics but I've read a few, here and there. Am definitely looking to be introduced to some really good stuff and recommendations are welcome (honestly, they're wanted.)
I'm a huge DC fan but I haven't read many comics, just know the stories and what happens but I've been meaning to jump in. Eventually, I plan to get into it all but it takes time.
Hey everyone.
I'm a French student in Dublin, I started reading comics when I was around 9. I've been an huge fan of Batman (Long Halloween series) and Spawn. I think that what impressed me at first was the dynamics of drawings. I read French and Belgian comic strips before that and these were rather static compared to super hero comics.
I've never bought comics on a regular basis, probably because the shops that had comics available in my place didn't sell them regularly. That's why I was more interested in the art of comics I guess than the story. I often started a series in the middle. Even though I stopped buying comics in the next years, it always remained an important part of my identity. I started to be more interested in drawing and I created some comics characters. One of them was called "Death" and had a very subjective senses of justice I guess.
Anyway, after few years far from comics, I'm now doing a research for my degree where I examine the dynamics of the comic book community. I started a thread today where I asked people to complete a survey about their practices with comics. I understand that people might feel suspicious towards that request. I'm kinda new on this forum. However, it would help me a lot if you guys could give me your impressions about the comics world. I'll come back to you with my findings to get your feedbacks about it.
Thanks to the people who already filled the survey. I won't paste the link here but you can find it under the name "Academic Survey: Comic Book Fans". Thanks a lot
Hi everyone. Long time lurker and on and off comic reader since childhood. Decided to go full on into comics again and picking back up where I left off on Spidey in particular. Really excited about officially joining the community and looking forward to many discussions. Will need lots of reading recommendations starting now.
Hello, everyone!
I'm a pretty recent comics fan, having only gotten into them about a year-and-a-half ago when I started collecting the original 1990 run of Guardians of the Galaxy (however, I've been into comic characters since probably BtAS). I've been a pretty voracious reader since then.
I like pretty much all the "main" heroes of the Big Two. Huge fan of the Birds of Prey (especially Huntress), Batwoman, and all eras of the Guardians of the Galaxy, as well.
I'm not usually active on forums, but I may make an exception here.

Hey guys.
I grew up on comics (many of which I shouldn't have gotten my hands on at that age) and the cartoons thereof. They taught me more about art, science, and history than my actual education (I learned what it's like to want to burn down the English language, though), and encouraged and inspired me to write my two original comics and maybe work my way up to working with Marvel.
Keep an eye on my signature if you're interested in kickstarters, vampires, comic retrospectives, or fanfiction.
This looks like a great forum, very friendly, and I've been kicked out of others over all the good stuff in comics (which you guys also seem to like).
My Ao3 fics (Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis, Final Fantasy 7) More coming soon!

Well I read Spider-Man as a kid. My family members had them and I got into them reading them. When I was younger I also watched the cartoon on TV. As of right now I'm trying to look for other Spider-Man comics that are decent to read. When I was at Barnes N Noble I had a horrible time making decisions cause so many looked interesting and I didn't know where to start. I also love horror comics and I read manga as well. I've always loved visual art my whole life. I own a lot of horror comics and manga, but I need to get back into super-hero comics. It all started with Spider-Man, Dark Knight and X-men. I'm also a fan of Aquaman too. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
