They were kind of written off and replaced by JLI/JLE based in Europe, and mostly not an international team- http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...ional_0005.jpg

As corny as they were, I Honestly always prefered the legit Global Guardians
I wish they would just rework/update most of the original team. Have Dr. Nommo Balewa go on a global - "putting the band back together" adventure - regroupe any of the original team left (or resurrected, yes he has the power), or find their legacies, and a few new heroes on the way.
With Dr. Nommo - as simply The Myst, leading the team again!

And the one (yes only one) USA member on the team, shouldn't be Batman, or Guy Gardner, or Captain Atom or Dick Grayson as I've often seen suggested, it should be freakin Owlwoman! (who is always criminally replaced by another white anglo male)
Except she's canadian, and last time i checked.. canada wasn't part of the USA.

A lot of Canadians get mistaken for Americans.

I always get confused by Fleur-de-Lis who is supposed to be from France. But the fleur-de-lis is associated with the ancien regime, so it's not a modern symbol for France, whereas it's the symbol for the province of Quebec in Canada. New France was established when France still had a monarchy--so Quebec kept traditions and symbols from the ancien regime. Fleur-de-Lys was an actual comic book super-hero published in Canada. She even got her own postage stamp. Thus my confusion.

Since when? And why the snark?
Wenonah Littlebird is depicted as American Cherokee/Kiowa, from Oklahoma.
According to the images I posted and you even quote above ^ she is clearly represented with the American flag.
The other group image you quote the caption clearly states: "Wenonah Littlebird Owlwoman ...from Oklahoma."
Not sure how you confused all that, as her being from Canada?

Yeah that's not the case here.
Wenonah Littlebird Owlwoman is clearly depicted as American.
She was specifically the American representative of the Global Guardians. She's one of the great few exceptions where the primary USA representative on a team wasn't default to a white male.

Oddly her as the US representative seems one of the first thing some want to replace when re-imagining the Global Guardians team.
The other seems to be replacing founder and leader Nommo Balewa with another white male.

Not sure why Blackhawks should be conflated with or conflict with the The Global Guardians who have their own unique origin and identity?

The same with Batman of All Nations?
Again, why shouldn't Nommo Balewa (aka the Myst) be leader and "give rise" to his own team?
Why does Global Guardians have to be diluted into derived from Batman of all Nations or the Blackhawks, or be or co-opted into derivative Justice League team? When they already have their own unique origin, identity and role, with their own leader and founder Dr. Nommo.

I'm super impressed- there's a metric boatload of characters in this thread I've never even heard of!

That said, I want to keep it simple for my team.

The team is called the Justice League.

    It's composed of

    Doctor Light from Japan

    Thunderer from Australia

    Green Lantern Kai-Ro from Tibet

    Super-Man from China

    Doctor Mist from Kor

    Vixen from Zambesi

Martian Manhunter from all over but I guess he hangs out in Brazil a lot

and Isis from Kandahq (with Black Adam occasionally serving as her "Mera" who shows up and helps out)

Replying to this here since it's somewhat become the Official Global Guardians thread:

By the way, the Dr. Mist Roy used in connection with The Dome and the Global Guardians actually first appeared way back in 1978 in . . .The Super Friends!

He first showed up in the last panel of issue #12, but his story was told in issue#13.

    ^^^^

Yep, this. This is what I was trying to get at when I said

Someone above quarreled with what I was saying, but I was simply using the conditional past to say that this should have happened in the past, per the old continuity, but it didn't because continuity is changed. I wasn't saying, in the present, that one team is required for the other to exist. It was that way and now it isn't. So it's a conditional past tense construction.

It was long ago when I posted that, but now I can finally settle that beef.

I love Wenonah but i think power wise the US would want more of a heavy hitter and someone with ties to the goverment. She has flight night vision, talons and maybe communication with owls but does she have in other abilities i'm unaware of?
