They probably had a limited pool of actors to choose from and couldn't find an actor with the same skin tone as Roberto Dacosta. It's still pretty good considering the possible limitations. Originally Posted by S.k.i.d.

Maybe not any who came and tried out for that part. Heck, a lot of people who make online videos don't necessarily send out casting calls so much as they hire friends and friends of friends to fill roles. And Sunspot's not so much Black as he is biracial (you could even possibly use the term "Creole" seeing as he hails from Brazil). Heck, he also counts as Latino seeing as he comes from a country that speaks a Latin-derived language. Maybe they were thinking of him more as being Latino when they cast him.
