Default Who is your best main character I-Star Trek: Enterprise

    Captains: http://community.comicbookresources....racter-Captain
    Doctors: http://community.comicbookresources....aracter-Doctor
    Chief Engineers: http://community.comicbookresources....Chief-Enginner
    Security Chiefs: http://community.comicbookresources....Security-Chief
    First Officers: http://community.comicbookresources....-first-officer
    Smart People: http://community.comicbookresources....r-Smart-Person
    Main Starships: http://community.comicbookresources....-main-starship

So after 7 threads of discussing the best across the franchise, let's get a little more internalized by going into the individual shows themselves. AND IN THE INTEREST OF FAIRNESS, I'm starting off with...

It is the year 2151, roughly a century after Earth's First Contact, when a chance incident in the unassuming Oklahoman farm land of Broken Bow speeds up the launching of Earth's first Warp 5 capable starship: The Enterprise NX-01. Under the command of Captain Jonathan Archer, the Enterprise and its crew makes its way into uncharted regions of space. Their voyages would just be the beginning, setting the stage for man to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life & civilizations, and boldly go where they have never gone before...

I think it goes without saying that Star Trek: Enterprise is a colossal failure, with poor writing, poor characters, and just general poor concepts all around. Still though to be fair, Enterprise had its few good moments, and its own characters that we could get behind.

So in this thread, vote for your best main character in Enterprise: Archer, T'Pol, Tucker, Reed, Mayweather, Hoshi, or Phlox.

Precisely why I went with this one first. To even find someone on Enterprise to like would definitely require more effort and thinking.

But I'll throw my choice in first: Reed. In rather meh crew of Enterprise, Reed stuck out to me as the most competent person among them, with his no nonsense attitude, devotion to duty, and his selflessness.

I actually liked some of the characters on this show. While I hated Archer and T'Pol, I thought Tucker, Malcom, and Phlox were all pretty good. I went with Tucker.

Tucker would've been my choice, except that he only didn't get good until in the latter half of the show in Season 3 when the Xindi stuff affected him personally, moved him closer to T'Pol, and changed his attitude. In Season 1 and 2 he was just completely insufferable.

Reed at least from the get-go was competent, though I wonder if this is only because him being ignored at the expense of Archer, T'Pol and Tucker spared him the wrath of the writers.

I thought Phlox was good until he committed mass genocide

To this day I do not understand what that genocide thing was about. It just made no sense why a doctor would kill an entire race of sentient beings based on nothing but a philosophical notion.

Possibly I wasn't expecting much because the producers had cast another ex-model with large breasts in a prominent ice-queen role, but Blalock really gave it the old-school try as T'Pol despite some shoddy scripts, and she was probably the only character/actor with an arc in the series that came together. I did like the actors who played Reed and Tucker, but I don't think their characters really went anywhere.

I feel that while T'pol did get good stuff in the end, part of the difficulty was how utterly crappy the Vulcans were handled. It's no wonder that Manny Coto came up with that story for the changes of Vulcan attitude in Season 4.
