Is Red Robin a good enough code name?

I personally think that a new codename could really benefit Tim. It never really made sense to me why he would use it in the first place. It just sounds kind of lame to me. Plus i think that its kind of unlikely that the Red Robin codename could work well in a other media like tv or movies.

The aliases of the Batfamily in general are rather uninspired. Pretty much every incarnation who uses "Bat" in their name could do with being more creative; Batgirl, Batwoman, Black Bat, Batwing. I'm surprised we haven't had Batboy or Big Bat yet.

Then there's all the relations to birds; Robin, Red Robin, Bluebird, Red Bird.

In fact, the only Bat-family member to have a creative name that ties into the family without being blatantly obvious is Nightwing, and that alias doesn't even exist anymore.

I think Tim should have gotten a better new identity in the Pre-Flashpoint continuity that actually made it seem like he "graduated" from the Robin role. Red Robin just seems like more of the same and with Damian holding the Robin title, it feels like a demotion.

Well, you sort of got that in Teen Titans #0 . . . Tim was never just "Robin" in the New 52, so that means Damian taking that codename didn't demote Tim.

The fact that "Robin" is still part of the name means that Tim still hasn't completely moved past that phase of his career.

It's just a name and he has moved past that phase of his career like Dick said. Dick saw and stated that Tim is his equal in pre52.

Until Tim has grown up, I don't think he should change code name. He is still very much a Robin in new52 imo

I always loved this costume too. Pre-New52 Tim was so much better than "Tim" if that's even his name. More on topic, the Red Robin name is pretty lazy and uninspired, like Godlike13 said.
