Tarzan. Erick Kripke. Around the same time as BOP? Not many episodes. Modern day Tarzan!

8 episodes, which really surprised me cause it was on tv so freaking often when i was a kid. (with stuff like Airwolf, Street Hawk and Knight Rider)

Weird to think it was just the same freaking 8 episodes again and again.

Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles *tear*

That show was doing amazing things and ended on a cliffhanger.

Lots of great entries so far (and most of the ones I was going to use).

    I'll add:
    The Middleman
    Adventures of Briscoe County Jr
    Human Target
    Day Break
    The Nine.

I still wish the V reboot had finished the story.

Manimal. I loved the idea of an animal shapeshifter. Knew it wouldn't last because....most things I love don't last past season three. Or even reach season two.

QED. 1982. I was at a crossroads in life and had just lost the ability to watch Doctor Who on free tv. Add that I'd loved Sam Waterston in The Boy Who Loved Trolls and this was a delightful romp. Wish it had been kept on.
You can catch the episodes on YT.
Parental care is way exhausting. Gained insight into what my parents went through when I was a baby. Not fun, but what ya gonna do? (Read comics, obviously.)

Never Mind the Buzzcocks. I know a lot of people thought it should have ended with Simon but I really enjoyed this show. Plus I'll miss Phil and Noel's crazy clothes.

Can't go wrong with a young hot Courtney Cox and Max Wright before the cocaine and sex scandal.

All in the Family is considered one of the most ground breaking sitcoms that will ever be made. It made Norman Lear a star producer who would go onto do such successful spin-off shows Maude , Good Times and The Jefferson's in the 1970's. But there is a spin-off show many have forgotten and this was done long after the show had really been the force it once was when Maude and Jefferson's was spun off as a series.

In 1982 , CBS approached Sally Struthers to return to the role of Gloria Bunker/Stivic and do a spin-off. At this point Struthers film career was pretty much non-existent and she needed the work so returning was easy for her. CBS wouldn't get Rob Reiner back as Michael Stivic due to the fact Reiner's directing career was just starting to launch and he'd never look back again.

The premise was Gloria had came home to New York to be close to her father after her husband Mike had left her for a student so he could live on a hippie commune. In an Archie Bunker's Place (All In the Family has changed its name in 1979 to reflect the change of direction of the series) Gloria returned home. The spin-off show was supposed to have close ties with Carol O'Conner's series and have Archie appear a lot to show this.

Well that plan quickly changed as this 1st episode shows.

Online basically the stories have came out what happened and why the series quickly failed.

    - The show as I posted above was supposed to feature Archie Bunker showing up a lot to show Gloria he was close to her and Joey. Well the 1st pilot showed Archie driving her to her new house where she would live and work at with a very older veterinarian (Burgess Meredith) . CBS looked at the pilot and junked it and decided to hire new producers for this series and they re-shot the pilot and removed Archie Bunker from the opening.

    - The new people in charge quickly removed the Archie Bunker's Place people who had worked on the series and removed a couple characters. Believing they had a vision for this show. The move angered Carol O'Conner who would never make an appearance on the show due to this. He also didn't like that during one episode the character of Joey would get a black dog and name it Archie.

    - Norman Lear was the genius who had carefully built each of the shows spin-offs. He had been a force in the 1970's and people questioned why CBS decided to keep him away from the spin-off "Gloria". Perhaps they wanted a different voice for the show as the theme tells us. A very light heart and end where Gloria tells her son..."Come on Joey , we will make it."

Also Norman Lear by the 1980's was drifting away from day to day running of TV shows and creating anymore . He had moved into a business direction and soon would buy Embassy Pictures and invest in other businesses. So perhaps they realized they had to go outside and try to get someone.

Gloria failed within one season even though it actually did better than its lead in series (Archie Bunker's Place) and ranked 18th for the season. Yet CBS seemed ready to move on from it. That same year they also cancelled Archie Bunker's Place as well ...which also didn't please Carol O'Conner who wasn't happy he never got to film a final episode of the series and end the character he had played 12 seasons.

Oh and one of the new writers outside Lear they hired was Steve Marshall. Who years later in 2010 would get 7+ years for child pornography.
