I haven't been up to date with God of Thunder, but it's been such an amazing series. Jason Aaron is up there with the better Thor writers.

It's quite astounding that Aaron's Thor work can be so great and his X-Men work be so, not, at the same time.

Just wanted to express my fondness for the god of thunder, Thor. Interestingly enough, I became a fan of Thor during Dan Jurgens/John Romita Jr. run with the character back during the late 90s/early 2000s. During that time, Thor battled the Dark Gods, Juggernaut, Thanos, and Mangog in some truly epic JRJr rendered glory. Unfortunately, I felt that Jurgen's run got a bit too heavy and convoluted when he made Thor king of Asgard and had him take over the Earth. Still, the first 25 issues of that run were awesome.

One of the most memorable scenes for me was this:
"I am a man of peace."

"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."

    And this:

"I am a man of peace."

"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."

So, Old Thor getting the Weapon Gorr used to combat Galactus...

Didn't see that coming. Not at all.

    Aaron is killing this book.

I forgot to mention but I'm a big fan of Thor the marvel version anyway
and when comes to Thor I've come to accept Thor being trounced by the next big bad or new character
because Thor will never earn the respect at Marvel ever. Which is okay with me my favorite is Stingray
but is overshadowed in obscurity and will probably die in the next big event. But on topic when it comes
to Thor their one thing as a Thor fan I can say trumps Hulk and Iron Man in popularity. His mythos,
he has a great rogues gallery that challenges him in strength, intellect and magic. Has nine realms he
can have boundless stories told in, and mixture of supporting cast from his Asgardians and mortal supporting cast.
So if Thor loses big deal he still has his stories and mythos that beats Hulk and Iron Man's by miles.

As to Angela, well I'm looking forward to the eventual lost in limbo with Malibu comic characters.

Re-reading Simonson's run (I recently got the Omnibus), I seem to recall there being some fallout to other series from the Casket of Ancient Winters shattering. Does anyone know if/which series afected? Thanks in advance!

I think it was mentioned that the winter was unusually cold because of the Casket in either X-Men or the Kitty Pryde & Wolverine limited series.

Yep, Aaron is 2-1 in stories so far (the Malekith storyline was not very good IMHO). Ribic's art is great but it appears he'll be taking another break, hopefully for only a short period.

My one annoyance about the latest issue: Agent Solomon had too easy a time killing trolls. I remember them being tougher than that (Ulik has been shown to be bullet-proof in the past).
