That first collection also puzzles me. Knowing that Omnis are already a somewhat niche product in the Collections realm due to their price one like the "year full of highlights" style Omni must ben even more niche...within the niche.
I wouldn't mind the second at a nice discount of at least 60% or more though.
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" - Optimus Prime
I was hoping to get Defenders #12-90 in epic collection.
The previous epics from a few years ago covered #90 onward I believe.
Last December, we got Defenders 1-11 and the pre-Defenders issues plus some Namor and Hulk issues thrown in. So someone there knows that the Defenders have starred in other books.
I am hopeful that we will see more in the coming months....

I'm tempted with the Marvel Age omnibus but yeah what you think of Marvel Year in Review books from the 90s being collected in omnibus or hell Marvel Swimsuit all 5 issues in one OHC, omnibus or maybe better a gallery edition.

Yeah, count me in as one of those who can't understand the appeal of these month/year Omnibuses other than looking nice on the shelf. I can't help thinking they're printing them due to some righrs issue i.e. if certain characters/strips are (kept) in print, their ownerhip rights won't be lost but I could be barking up the wrong tree.
Is there anyone here who actually buys them?
I doubt there are any rights issues involved. It's much easier to print up a small 4 issue collection or 4 issue new series to retain rights than to issue a full omnibus.
I'm surprised that there is a market for the Marvel Universe or Marvel Age titles. The MU series was a great way to catch up on character history when they came out, but now they just represent the status quo at Marvel for when they were printed and are now obsolete. There must be a nostalgia factor or a market for people who want these "Historical Snapshot" books. I assume the same holds true for the Month/Year omnis that are being released.
Man.. those Master Edition handbooks… they were so dry and boring compared to the previous ones, and they thought they were doing people a favor my having them made for 3-ring binders, but they ripped so easily and the character choices each issue were so random..

I'm a little disappointed in Avengers Epic Collection vol. 11. I was hoping Marvel would align it with the Trial of Yellowjacket trade that begins with issue 212. Instead it finishes with issue 209. Looks like I'll have a 2 issue gap in my collection.
