Since my last update, seven titles have moved to the 'Out of Print' list: Conan the Barbarian Omnibus Volume 2, Daredevil Omnibus Volume 1, Earth X Trilogy Omnibus Alpha, Guardians of the Galaxy by Bendis Omnibus, Savage Sword of Conan Omnibus Volume 2, Timely's Greatest: The Golden Age Sub-Mariner - The Pre War Years Omnibus by Bill Everett and War of Kings Prelude Omnibus. Yessss… FFv4 is the one gap I have to be complete with the FF releases so far. I don’t collect the Avengers epics, but I do have the two volume Galactic Storm TPBs from 10+ years ago. Is there any different material?

The issues collected are all the same, but if you look at the page counts, the 2-volume set from 2006 has a higher combined page count. I sold my old trades for the Epic Collection when it came out, and my memory is failing me, but I'm guessing there was bonus sketches, scripts, maybe house ads...?

What a giant block of an unwieldy book that is going to be. If it is a straight-up combine job, you're looking at 1600+ pages.

Happy for everyone who missed out on the original releases but... yeesh. The Companion is already a huge book, never mind slapping it together w/ the main series.

Ah, just pulled out my copy and you are correct. I couldn't recall which version had the What It...? issues.

It also appears the Epic Collection left out the (unrelated) back up stories in Captain America #398-400.

I had a look at the Amazon listing for the YA Heinberg/Cheung Omni today and I noticed that the page count and cover price have increased. When it was solicited, the omni was 600 pages at $100, but the Amazon listing has it as 1056 pages and $125. The interesting thing is that those additional 556 pages would be more than enough to cover all the other YA minis as well as the Siege one-shot if they were to be included.

It's possible this is a coincidental glitch, because the listed contents haven't changed and still show just the Heinberg/Cheung material. What's more, the listing on Previews hasn't changed at at all, and still shows the original cover price. And if Marvel were changing the contents or price, they'd have to cancel orders and resolicit it, and they haven't done that yet (otherwise they'd risk the book becoming returnable). But it is curious that the Amazon listing has a page count and price which would match the additional material that would belong in the book.

Omar just confirmed that the omnibus will include all the material between the Heinberg/Cheung series. The Civil War: YA/Runaways, YA Presents, Secret Invasion: Runaways/YA, Dark Reign: YA, and Siege: YA are now included in the omnibus for $125 retail price.

Yeah, I can't believe they're going to include everything. The Companion OHC is bigger than a lot of other Omnibuses. I still have that nice cardboard box with cover art in which the Companion came in.
