I've been using that comic book herald modern guide for almost two years now. I switch between it and a silver age reading order.

I just finished Siege last night. I am also skipping most of the Spider-Man and X-men issues.

I actually give him a lot of credit for turning Marvel around. Him and Jemas. Sure, they had some blounders, but overall I liked that they brought in outside talent form the independents or novels (i.e. Bendis, JMS), too chances (Kevin Smith), and made a lot of characters readable again (Spider-Man, Daredevil and Punisher, for example).

Another thing - getting Avengers vs JLA out.

Quesada also made a number of trips to England, trying to lure Alan Moore back. It didn't work out, but he certainly seemed to try, They did get Neil Gaiman back on board.

I feel like his era heralded the end of the "Dark Ages" of the nineties and really brought Marvel back to form. While not everything was perfect I think that it was arguably one of the strongest eras for Marvel period. So many good book/runs: Marvel Knights, Busiek/Perez and later Bendis Avengers, Brubaker Cap, Bendis Daredevil, DnA Cosmic, House of M, Civil War, JMS Spider-Man, I could go on and on. The event fatigue of recent years was born out of that era but it wasn't nearly as bad initially.

Yup. Even as someone who hates Civil War, the period of Heroes Return to Fear Itself was great. Definitely better than the current idiocy.
    Cyclops was right

I thought there would be more demand for the Deadpool Kelly Omnibus and the Deadpool and Cable Omnibus since they are OOP but I can't seem to get rid of mine. Maybe it has to do with me being in Canada...

Psst - I am currently slogging through catching up on ANAD Marvel!

Besides Vision, which was great but not what I was expecting, Black Widow was absolutely spectacular comics-making. Also, Ultimates is great and A-Force was way, way more fun than I've heard anyone give it any credit for.

And, finally, while Invincible Iron Man wasn't exactly groundbreaking storytelling, Marquez's art on it is a sight to behold.
I read bits and pieces of the period from when I was in high school(started with CW in 2007), up to AoU. I skipped a ton of good material though, so I'm aiming to go more in depth this time. I didn't read much Marvel NOW aside from Hickman's material to be honest, and when SW ended, I dropped Marvel completely. But there are lots of post 2012 titles I'm very interested in, so I'm excited to explore it all!

I love me some X-Men but I'd go broke trying to collect everything thats out for it. I started this hobby around 2013 and I regret not picking up the two Claremont/Lee omnis while they were dirt cheap. Inferno HC was already out of the question by the then, but I wouldn't have minded just getting everything else(except for the mid-late 00's era), in fat trades. Now I just pick up whatever hc's are still availible and read the rest in Unlimited haha.

I've following this guys reading orders for a while. The most comprehensive and ambitious one I've seen thus far.

It's going for stupid price on eBay.
Maybe many collectors are smarting up and just wait it out for the reprints.
I am interested in D&C omni if you're willing to let it go at reasonable price.

The omnibus does have the Annual & Blood of the Tarantula issues as you probably already know. It also has the pin-up gallery from #500 with extra covers and process pages. One of the process pages features Aja's artwork, ironically enough.
Thank you, I'll have to hunt #500 down then!

I'm asking $300 CAD (thats around $242 USD) for the 2 omnibuses (they are both sealed) +fees and shipping. I thought I would have sold them by now. Guess the demand isn't there.

With regards to reading orders for events, I strongly recommend https://comicbookreadingorders.com/. I previously used comicbookherald, but when I was making my way through Shadowland, I noticed there were 2 very key issues missing (Shadowland: Bullseye one-shot and Daredevil #512) and the order seemed way off. I therefore started to look around and stumbled upon comicbookreadingorders and I have been using them since using the Marvel Event Timeline for Spider-Island, AvX and Age of Ultron. I am now on Infinity and in each and every event I have used them, their order of issues has been absolutely spot on. They have done an absolute stellar job and I can't recommend them enough. They also do reading orders for DC and other publishers.

^You forgot Planet Hulk. I'll be getting it, along with the Ennis Punisher reprint and Vader. Also several ohcs (ASM, W&D, Year One), so this one's gonna hurt a bit. Looks like October is not going to be any kinder to my wallet either
