I've debated with myself whether to just buy volumes 1 and 2 of these silver age volumes as I love the silver age. The one drawback is that the Hulk only has one volume and Daredevil is soon to hit volume two, happy days. Yes I know that the third volumes also contain silver age stories but I'm content at two.
Hail Hydra!
So Avengers vol.5 to be.....coming along in perhaps 2024?
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" - Optimus Prime
I been collecting omnibus for so long and I finally got the urge to one day today to start reading 1 from my shelf, I chose New Warriors omnibus vol 1 since I ordered 2 and it wont be here til next week. I'm 10 issues in(well 12 if you count the Thor issues when the Warriors first app), man comics back then sure had more content to read, I kinda miss that but I noticed with today books, I gotten lazy in my comic reading as I'm too used to reading books with little dialogue that used the art more to speak for itself.
I've been reading a host of 70s books and there is all kinds of text.
Setting text
Background info text(corporation, foe etc)
Thought balloons
Spoken word
Deathlok Complete Collection (Luthor Manning)
Machine Man Collection
Man-Wolf Complete Collection
Frankenstein Collection
Son of Satan (360 pages in, about 100 more to go)
It can take me 20-25 minutes on some of these 70s issues, Frankenstein was always on the higher end.
A modern book I can read in under 10minutes.
I read all 6 trades, 30 issues, of Paper Girls in just a few days time. A few trades in under an hour.
Awesome, then maybe this time next year we will have Avengers SA Omnibus volume 5!!
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" - Optimus Prime
Oooh. Just got the X-Factor by Peter David vol. 2 Omi!
Haven't read it since it first came out in floppies.
Can't wait to dig into the Omni.
Not according to the solicitation...but hopefully that's an error. According to the solicit it contains Doctor Strange (1968) #183; Sub-Mariner (1968) #22, 34-35; Incredible Hulk (1968) #126; Marvel Feature (1971) #1-3; Defenders (1972) #1-11; Avengers (1963) #116-118; material from Avengers (1963) #115.
Ah, that explains it. Thank you!
Silver Age omnibus reprint coming in July 2023.
I might be mad yet I consider the Silver age as "MARVEL" and the runs to the modern age as marvel. Yes i'm a completist.
Hail Hydra!
