Are Uncanny X-Men Omnibus volumes 2 and 3 likely to get new printings in the next five years? I need them to complete my collection. I just started collecting omnibuses last year.

    UXM
    ASM
    and
    FF a distant third

are the Omni books that are as close to being considered "Evergreen" as we've seen without there being any official confirmation that Marvel Collections considers them to be so.
All three lines have had various reprints for each volume. I'm sure someone in this thread has it documented somewhere and could tell us.

The wiki team keeps up a decent running list of Omni releases. Here's an example from ASM v1

Thanks to you both. So UXM 2 and 3 will likely return within the next 2-3 years.

Insanely excited for The Invaders omnibus. I’ve got the singles, I’ve got the two different versions of the complete collected edition softcovers, but Marvel can’t take my money fast enough in order to get my hands on the omni. I came *this* close to getting extra copies of all the singles and having the series custom bound in the past.

Do you have the New Mutants volume 2 omnibus? If so, you already have those issues.

And if not… uh, good God, why not?

I don’t, and I don’t know when or if I’ll get them. I really can’t stand Illyana or Rahne. Rahne at least became fun during Peter David’s X-Factor but I only ever liked the post-Inferno kid version of Illyana.

I'm looking forward to that, as well.....Doing your own binding would've been costly, as some of the single issues sell pretty high nowadays (Especially the early Union Jack & Baron Blood appearances). I always thought Baron Blood was such a ridiculously outrageous character design that he's fucking marvelous. The imagery just breaks that barrier.

I bought the entire set of single issues 20-25 years ago on eBay for $80, and most of them are in mint condition. What's funny is the bid actually went up to around $160-$200 and I lost, but the winning bidder backed out, for whatever reason, and it went to me at the last bidding price before the winning bidder came in, so I got it at 80 bucks.

What's the general consensus on Ewing's Immortal Hulk run? I know it seems to have a large fanbase, but who would you compare Ewing's writing style to? And is he at the level of the likes of Moore, Morrison, Gaiman, Ellis, and Hickman, in terms of writing ability? Or is he slightly lower (but still good), like Brubaker & Millar? Or more on the Geoff Johns level, which is palatable but not upper tier?

I'm curious about doing a blind-buy on the upcoming omnibus, but it'll suck if I'm simply not into it.

I'd say Al Ewing is above the Geoff Johns tier but below the Moore/Gaiman tier. I would put him alongside Keiron Gillen and Si Spurrier.

Immortal Hulk is a very solid Hulk run that leans darker than most. It has a lot of body horror and delves into the DID aspect of Banner/Hulk.

Recommended for Hulk fans and fans of darker stories.

If you're not sure, you should read some on Marvel Unlimited before buying a $100+ book.

I loved Immortal Hulk. I’m not much of a Hulk fan by rule — I liked some of the PAD stuff, I bought and enjoyed the Planet Hulk collection when it came out — but Immortal did it for me. I both highly recommend the series and the suggestion above to try it out with a much cheaper Marvel Unlimited subscription first, just to make sure. But I also suggest that for everything, I don’t think I’ve ever blind-purchased an omnibus before. You people are nuts!

Good question on Ewing. He’s not at that living legend status like a Gaiman or Morrison, but I think he and guys like Chip Zdarsky are at the top of the current wave of guys that have really hit it big in the last 5-10 years. There’s not much they’ve done I haven’t liked, and every now and then they put in some all-time great work. I’m really happy Zdarsky has hit it big with Batman, and while Ewing already has some big properties under his belt I’m really hoping he either takes a bigger stake with the X-books or lands a Fantastic Four or something.

Speaking of Immortal Hulk - it seems Marvel has corrected the printing error of vol 10 of the TPBs. The book is now re-listed on all major trade online shops and on mycomicshop.com - they have text confirming the new printing corrects the previous printing error.
"NOTE: This Edition has the Gatefold foldout bound between the correct pages (pages 160-161). "
