There's supposed to be a second Platoon series coming out in the near future so I wouldn't be surprised to see both minis collected in their own OHC.

Link to where a second series has been forecast?

Garth Ennis: Given that Born was set during Frank's third tour of duty in Vietnam, I knew that I'd eventually want to go back and examine his first and second, just to give us a better impression of the road that took him to Firebase Valley Forge. In this one we'll see how he manages to impress a number of, shall we say, talent-spotters - who are constantly keeping an eye on things from behind the scenes. For what happens next, on his second tour - well, watch this space.

So while it hasn't been announced by Marvel yet Ennis definitely has plans for a second series.

We'll probably end up with a bit of double dipping eventually, with an OHC collecting Platoon, the sequel and Born....
    EVENTUALLY!

In the meantime, I'm still hopeful for a Companion Omnibus to pick up all the remaining material not in the 3 existing/planned omnibuses.

Thanks. I've never seen it spelled out this thoroughly. I read an interview awhile back where he said he kept the doors open to Marvel and DC because he like to revisit the Punisher and Section 8 but he didn't go into any detail. It's good to know but it could be something that's years away as well.

Sandbagger, you are well informed as usual. Thank you. This does help justify Marvel's decision.
Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

I hope I'm not the only one excited for the Kraven's Last Hunt deluxe edition. I've been waiting to read that in an oversized format for years!

I will pick up the Kraven Last Hunt Deluxe Edition as well.
I had that story in other formats, and read it several times before but this collection having the sequel (among other extras)and being in HC makes this a must buy to me.

I find more shady there is a 200 pages difference between X-Men Revolution and The Dark Phoenix Saga. There is 200 pages less in the Dark Phoenix Saga yet the cost the same.

    Why?
The general opinion is that “Revolution” is an inferior product. Primary parameter must be the content/materiale, right?

I for one have absolutely no interest in the Revolution book, so Why would I Care that is costs less.
An Audi costs more than a Skoda, even though they both have four weels.

I am sure Marvel based this on expected revenue, which makes sense.

I read the Spidey Kraven Epic not so long ago. I was really looking forward to the Last Hunt issues, as it was my first time reading, but it turned out to be a bit of an anti-climax. It seems a wee bit forced and in no way IMHO is the best Spidey story out there as there are much better ones. It has a lot of fans and ranked extremely high on the CBR top stories. I read through the majority of it again the next day and appreciated it much better. A second reading does help but i did find the narration quite strange and quirky. I know I was expecting something quite special.

I think another factor for me was that it came out of left field very suddenly, although I'm not against having this type of story in Spider-Man. I'll most probably pick up the deluxe also for the extra stories and I'm curious as to this "new" Deluxe format.

So could you give us some insides why the stories in the Revolution Volume are supposed to be so bad? I asked the question already two times here and noboy came up with something substantial. Given that it was followed by Austin PLUS the in my opinion worst work of Claremont in X-Treme X-Men I wonder how bad is it in perspective?
