I hear ya. You have to admit though, it's somewhat harder to crack open the seal on a book once it has tripled in value.

Btw, who is picking up the Hickman X-Men OHC? It's becoming a tough call, given how wide this line has expanded. Hard to know if it will contain relevant stories like "X of Swords" or if I'll need to buy that separately. Watch it be OOP by the time we actually know.

Is that OHC supposed to be the first 12 issues or something? The way they're collecting the Dawn of X trades and Reign of X is so odd to me. Is anyone getting these? What's your opinion on them?

Thinking of opening Uncanny X-Force omnibus, but it's almost harder to appreciate it, given the rise in value.

I'm trying to remind myself that I have my favorite arc from the run in single-issue format, so it's okay to indulge and treat the floppies as the collector pieces, but....easier said than done.
Definitely. About to go through this myself. Decided to finally read through the whole Giffen/Abnett/Lanning cosmic saga, and I just saw how much my unopened War Of Kings omnibus is selling for.

Honestly, there have been a few times where I decided to sell before finally opening because the prices were too good to pass up. If a book gets close to $300 and I haven’t opened it yet, if it’s not a personal classic and if I can read it on Marvel Unlimited I’d rather have the money and clear out much needed space on my shelf.

If it’s anything like how they collected his Avengers runs in OHC, expect overlap. One of the books, I believe Avengers Vol 2, was a 100% double dip if you bought the Infinity OHC.

I wasn't aware of this. They've only had one print each?

In fact, I wonder if they'd do like the Cap Britain omni and repackage these to include the ancillary material in Epic "Always Darkest before the dawn". If they were on the fence about how these would sell, by throwing those in the mix, TONs of people would buy them, since these have never been in oversize formet. C'mon, Marvel, make it happen.
Thanks for the replies guys, I think I'm leaning more towards the epics right now. One of them has a reprint tomorrow so I might pick that one up.

On the other hand, if you're a completionist and prone to deep regret about holes on your shelf (pauses to nod to himself), this could be the first of 3-4 omnibuses that carry through from before The Phantom Menace to just after Revenge of the Sith (basically The Menace Revealed v1-3 and The Clone Wars v1-4 epic collections).
Yeah they don’t look too gripping IMO... I thought that the prequel trilogy was pretty much trash...

On the other hand I hear that the comics about Darth Plagueis are supposed to be really good... but those aren’t included in this one.

Where would those fall in the omnibus order I wonder...

I relate to this a ton. I love that UXF run, and I sold the first printing of it because the price skyrocketed. Now I'm tempted to do it again!

Got my Morrison New X-Men omnibus! Pity Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men run is out of print, that’s the other X-Men I’m dying to have.
