Nothing in this list for me. I have everything except Secret Wars but that doesn't really interest me.

I would be interested in more modern runs being collected as omnis, e.g. X-Men as from Messiah Complex or X-Men by Mike Carey etc.

    1. X-Men Fall of the Mutants OHC
    2. Avengers by Jonathan Hickman Volume 1
    3. X-Men Omnibus Volume 1
    4. Amazing Spider-Man by J. Michael Straczynski Omnibus Volume 1
    5. War of Kings Omnibus
    6. Avengers by Jonathan Hickman Omnibus Volume 2
    7. Star Wars: Darth Vader Omnibus
    8. Fantastic Four by Hickman Omnibus Volume 2
    9. Immortal Iron Fist Omnibus
    10. Daredevil by Brubaker Omnibus Volume 1
    11. Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Volume 1
    12. Daredevil by Frank Miller Omnibus
    13. X-Men Omnibus Volume 2
    14. Fantastic Four John Byrne Omnibus Volume 2
    15. Avengers by Busiek and Perez Omnibus Volume 1
    16. Silver Surfer by Slott and Allred Omnibus
    17. Secret Wars Omnibus
    18. War of the Realms Omnibus
    19. Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Volume 4
    20. X-Men/Avengers Onslaught Omnibus

Yup, a multi omni set of Brubaker / Fraction / Gillen / Carey X-men would be amazing! Along with Yost/Kyle X-Force.

Heinberg's Young Avengers will probably get omni'd when Marvel announces a show, same with Aaron Thor being closer to Thor 4. So just a waiting game.

Geez... a lot more "passes" than I would've thought... how does no one else but me want an Acts of Vengeance reprint??
Those are some stone classics you're passing on, like Hickman Avengers, Bru/Miller Daredevil, Iron Fist, etc. Do you have them in other formats or you didn't like the storylines?

After the last(?) Uncanny X-Men omnibus comes out (presumably in 2022) along with a Fall of the Mutants reprint, this seems like the next place for Marvel to go for X-omnis. Well, they'd probably do Claremont's run that precedes this as the first in a new series or a standalone, but then start with the Brubaker run and go forward - there aren't that many places left to go (New Mutants v3 and v4(?), Uncanny v5, Excalibur v3, Cable & X-Force for post-AoA/pre-Onslaught, and Counter-X are the only big holes pre-Morrison, right?)

    Reading order.

I don’t think you need to wait on X-Factor before reading X of Swords. Plotwise, it’s mostly following up with X-Men and Excalibur. X-Factor was only a few issues in when the crossover hit, and nothing you need to have read to “get” XoS.

As for NMC’s reprint poll, really glad to see X-Men v1 rank so high. It’s my last remaining white whale. Yeah, I’ll buy the Thor v1 reprint, and I’d consider the SA Iron Man ones if they were ever reprinted. But those are more like nice-to-haves; X-Men v1 is the only gaping absence I can’t overlook.

Didn't realize there was so much demand for pre-Claremont X-men. Is it for the sake of completion? Are folks actually big fans of those days?

I have all the Hickman Avengers in floppies - so totally agree those are some classics for sure. I love Hickman's storylines; I also have his FF run but will probably buy that in omnibus format when those reprints come out because I do feel like reading them in that type of format really helps congeal the storyline together.

I've tried reading Iron Fist/Daredevil but really have a tough time with the "street level" heroes. I just enjoy the cosmic/world-scapes of titles like Avengers, X-Men, and FF a bit more.

As far as Acts of Vengeance go, yes - totally agree that the storyline is "meh" but I have the damn AoV Crossovers omnibus sitting on my shelf, unread, for years and it's the only gap in my "Marvel events" OHC/omnibus collection!

Must be for completion's sake. I have yet to see anyone say that they actually *liked* early X-Men. Heck, even Uncanny Omar doesn't recommend them.

That, plus how long it’s been OOP. I started buying omnis back in 2012, and at that point Vol 1 was already selling for $200 on eBay. So even a lot of old school collectors never had a chance at that one. I think it’s the only book on the list that’s never been available in the last 10 years, although some others come close.

It’s not the best silver age Marvel, tbh. But they have a lot of first appearances of now classic characters, and vol 2 has oversized Neal Adam’s art, which is always a good thing.

I really liked the Roy Thomas/Neal Adams issues from the original run. There was a 3 issue reprint in the early 80s that I read several times.

Out of the reprint list the Immortal Iron Fist and Avengers by Busiek and Perez are the only one's I need or want.
