Marvel: It's the 60th Anniversary of Spider-Man, one of our most popular heroes!
Everyone: Great...so any new Spider-Man omnis?
Marvel: Nope, have some Captain Marvel and Conan instead.

I would like them to release a few omnibus editions of their 70's horror titles much like the DC House of Mystery or Secrets. Even their magazine line could be used, Tales of the Zombie and Vampire Tales. Yes I know that we had the essential Zombie but that was black and white, then the Vampire Tales was printed so small I needed a magnifying glass just to read the text. Has there been any news on any new horror titles?
Hail Hydra!
So I'm preordering the Darth Vader by Gillen omnibus from CGN - https://www.cheapgraphicnovels.com/s...ptg-pre-order/ - and I want the cover with Vader, Palpatine and the Imperial Guard.
CGN says the cover artist is Brooks but the Previews catalog says Alex Ross...? https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP211046
Anybody know who the actual artist is? Doesn't look like a Ross work.
Tales of the Zombie might be a tough sell, since so much of the material was already reprinted in the Marvel Horror omnibus. (Only the covers and the Simon Garth stories, but that was the bulk of the material; I believe most of the articles and non-Simon stories are in the Essential volume.)
As for Vampire Tales and Dracula Lives!, kind of the same thing… most of the non-article content has been reprinted in omnibus format already, between Tomb of Dracula volume 3 (the Drac stories from Dracula Lives!), Morbius the Living Vampire (the Morbius stories from Vampire Tales), and Marvel Horror Lives Again (the Blade, Hodiah Twist, and Satana stories from Vampire Tales, and the Lilith stories from Vampire Tales and Dracula Lives!). Take all those serialized characters out, and all you have left is the articles and a few one-off stories.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m with you about those Vampire Tales digests being so small, and I’d love an oversized reprinting of the “The Vampyre” adaptation. But I don’t know that Marvel would want to risk releasing magazine omnis that double-dip so heavily with already-released omnis, just for a few random zombie and vampire stories and some articles about 50-year old movies.
Ah, well that’s another story!
I’d buy them, for sure. I don’t know how much of a market there’d be, but they’d be a day 1 purchase for me, at least!
Couple questions for the knowledgeable folks here:
1) the Loeb Fallen Son mini isn't in any of the Bru Cap omnis, correct?
2) How's the upcoming Conan omni written by Priest? I like his Panther and Deathstroke and admittedly this'd be early Priest, but still. I like Spidey vs Wolverine too.
New Omnibus for October 2022
I hope this presages Marvel getting the last(?) Rebellion Epic Collection out in the near future. I'm waiting for Shadows of the Empire to get collected (w/Shadow Stalker and Scoundrel's Wages) ...

Marvel is basically running out of good runs to print - lots of these new announcements are bottom of the barrel junk.
The only Marvel collected editions I still want that get no noise at all are The Nam and Larry Hama's Nth Man. Theres gotta be a chance right?
Currently Reading:

Well we still need Omni's of Roger Stern's Avengers, Mark Gruenwalds Cap, JM Dematties/Mike Zeck Cap, Tom Defalco/Ron Frenz Thor, and Micheline/Layton's 2nd Iron Man, Marc Spector Moon Knight, Spectacular Spidey by Dematties/Buscema also including Dematties return from Spec 241-262, and Howard Mackie Ghost Rider run before we are scraping the bottom of the barrel. I would also love omni's of Civil War, Original Sin, Civil War 2, and Secret Empire, if all could include the important tie ins too that would be awesome.
