    My selections:

    1. Counter-X - X-Man 63-75, Generation X 63-75, X-Force 102-115
    2. Spectacular Spider-man by DeMatteis - Spectacular Spider-man 178-200, 241-257, Annual 13, 14
    3. Daredevil by Denny O’Neill - DD 192-218, 220-225
    4. Iron Man by Bendis - Invincible Iron Man 1-14, International Iron Man 1-7, Infamous Iron Man 1-12, Invincible Iron Man 1-11, 593-600, Civil War II 1-8
    5. Thanos: The Infinity "Something" - Infinity Abyss 1-6, Marvel Universe: The End 1-6, Thanos 1-6, Spaceknights 1-5 (or Thor: Blood and Thunder just to beef it up a bit)
    6. Spider-man: The Alien Costume Saga (concatenate the two Complete Collections)
    7. Captain Marvel by Peter David v1 - CM (1999) 0-35
    8. Spider-Man: Prelude to the Clone Saga (It could also be called "Peter's really angry phase": ASM 381-393, SSM 204-216, WoSM 104-116, SM 38-50
    9. X-Man: The Man Who Fell to Earth - X-Man 1-30, Cable, Excalibur 95, Cable 29-31, ASM 420, '96 Annual
    10. Iron Man by Fraction v1 - Invincible Iron Man 1-33

I can only kind of expect 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 to place, if that. I'm not here to do any tactical voting. I decided against voting for PPSSM v2 only because I'm probably in the minority of people that want it to treat the Stern omni as v1.5 and just skip over issues 43-61 - just 62-89+appropriate annuals and tie-ins.

I've never read them, so I don't know if the problem is entirely quality or just Ellis, but I'm always a little surprised that I'm apparently the only Counter X voter. I'm here for both X-Force and X-Man to get collected in their entirety in some format or another (we're one Cable & X-Force fat tpb away in a technical sense for XF, but the Counter X books are small and annoy me with their numbering - X-Man needs more help), and it seems like a perfect pair with X-Men: Revolution or follow up to The Twelve.

Of the three book reinventions, only X-Man was considered to be truly successful, and no one cares about X-Man. Generation X tried to be interesting by launching with everyone mourning Synch’s death and only showing how it happened in a later storyline, but the villains were uninspired and that book was probably too far gone at the time to be saved. And X-Force was considered a total misfire, with Pete Wisdom of all characters turning them into a black ops team with incredibly awful costumes and inexplicable new powers (Warpath flying?).

I read Counter-X Generation X and parts of X-Force when they came out, and have no desire to ever do so again. Sorry.

EDIT: Just remembered, one thing Counter-X Generation X did do was make Emma Frost scathing and borderline villainous again, after earlier writers had softened her considerably and started to set up a romantic relationship with Iceman. (Obviously, he wasn’t gay yet.) I have no idea if Grant Morrison read any of Generation X before starting to plan out New X-Men, but it’s possible a bit of NXM Emma’s inspiration can be partially credited to Counter-X. Maybe.

I don't know if you're aware but Wolverine Vol. 3 was announced and will probably be in the next solicitations. I bet TigerEyes will have classified your Vol. 3 as Vol. 4

I was/am a big fan of the Web of SM title. It was actually my first Spidey book, #44 co-starring Hulk/Mr.Fixit and I was not sure what to make of that as I thought Hulk was green(cartoons)!!!!
I went back, bought all the back issues. It was the one Spidey title I was able to proudly state in my early days of collecting that i had the whole run of to date.

With so much Spectacular and Amazing content still to lean into I don't expect Web of for several more years to come though.

Since Web replaced Marvel Team-Up, they should really do that first. But I suppose licensing issues would make later volumes a bit dicey.

Okay, that all seems fair. I just like X-Man and X-Force. At a certain point, possibly in the next three years, it really might be one of the last games in town for people to throw their X-votes at. I don't see X-Man or Gen X pulling a lot of omni support, and X-Force seemed to struggle to get to three omnis.

I didn't see that, no! That's great news. I hope he does count me for v4 then.

Same for me. I came in with new issues around the same time, and from there wanted to collect issues with the black costume. The Web issues were always easiest to get. And yeah, I would imagine collecting Web is way down on Marvel's list. Hopefully someday, though, I can get a nice Omni with that awesome Charles Vess cover from Web #1.

Yeah… X-Force really struggled for an identity for much of its run. Personally, I’d be all over an omni of the “Road Trippin’” era, when they were the New Mutants again in all but name, ditching Cable and behaving like early 20-somethings. I held off on the first three X-Force omnis, but that’d be a definite buy for me.

As for the other two, I actually wouldn’t be at all surprised to see a Generation X omni or two at some point. People of my age still have a lot of fondness for that book and its promise, even if it arguably didn’t live up to that promise all that consistently. But X-Man… eesh. Yeah, I dunno. But hey, they made an omni for The Crossing, so you never know!

I would absolutely buy a Gen X omnibus. Package together the relevant Phalanx Covenent-related stuff, the first 25 issues of the series (everything before Zero Tolerance), that issue of Wolverine where he visits Salem, maybe even that Franklin Richards/Artie/Leech mini — makes sense to me. I’d be all over it.

I probably wouldn’t spring for a Counter X one… that wasn’t quite my cup of tea. But I would go for an X-Man v1, collecting the first 30 issues or so + relevant Cable/Amazing Spider-Man issues.
