Hey guys, I haven't posted too regularly on here recently, but just wanted to give anyone interested a quick heads up for some dirt cheap prices on MMW HCs that I found online. Today, using their additional 3% recent customer discount I was able to pick up

Champions MMW Vol 1 DM variant for $35
Spider-Woman MMW Vol 1 DM variant for $33.

They also had some other MMWs on deep discounts for similar prices. I remember seeing some Captain Marvel, Thor and Daredevil volumes. Good luck!

[QUOTE=zevious zoquis;2532458]Hi Marvelheads. Just looking for a little clarification...I just snagged a copy of the Brubaker Trial of Cap Omnibus and I'm wondering what is the best way to get all the bits of the whole Brubaker Captain America run? It's pretty confusing just looking at the different collections available on Amazon...[/QUOTE

So most of the Omnis are way out of print, so your best bet is:

Winter Soldier, as either the OHC or the Ultimate Collection

    Red Menace Ultimate Collection

Death of Captain America Ultimate Edition

The you need The Man with No Face, which is way out of print as a trade, and HC, and an Omni. I got lucky recently and found the HC for cover, but its a bit tricky to get.

After that, you need the two Captain America Reborn collections.

    Then the Trail Omni,

Then the Return of the Winter Soldier Omni.

That's as far as I've gotten. (I haven't even bought the Soldier Omni yet actually.) I'm not sure if there is anything else after that. I know the Winter Soldier series goes on for one more trade after the Omni, written by Jason Latour.

The complete estimated comic book sales figures for December 2016 are in (please note this list only details those comics sold to North American Comics Shops as reported by Diamond). I’ve listed below the Marvel OHC/Omnibus/MMW’s as well as the larger TPB collections such as the Epic, Ultimate and Complete lines that made the list, detailing the position, title and estimated sales.

    45. Star Wars Force Awakens Adaptation OHC - 1,991
    51. Punisher Max Complete Collection Vol. 4 - 1,793
    67. Marvel Masterworks Amazing Spider-Man HC Vol. 18 - 1,480
    74. Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Clone Wars Vol. 1 - 1,343
    76. Star Wars Kanan Omnibus - 1,321
    77. Amazing Spider-Man Epic Collection Vol. 2: Great Responsibility - 1,300
    78. Deadpool By Posehn and Duggan Omnibus - 1,286
    95. X-Men Epic Collection Vol. 2: Lonely Are The Hunted - 1,179
    147. Captain America Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection - 829
    151. Uncanny X-Men OHC Vol. 2 - 814
    157. X-Men X-Cutioners Song TPB - 789
    159. Captain America Red Menace Ultimate Collection - 786
    174. Guardians of the Galaxy By Bendis Omnibus Vol. 1 - 728
    226. Astonishing X-Men Whedon Cassaday Ultimate Collection Book 1 - 571
    239. X-Men Inferno Crossovers TPB - 561
    264. Astonishing X-Men Whedon Cassaday Ultimate Collection Book 2 - 505
    270. Deadpool By Daniel Way Complete Collection Vol. 1 - 499
    291. Amazing Spider-Man By JMS Ultimate Collection Book 1 - 459

Extremely dismal result for Guardians of the Galaxy By Bendis Omnibus Vol. 1 with it only shifting 728 units.

For the sake of comparison, DC’S Omnibus stats this month:
    53. DC Rebirth Omnibus - 1,782
    177. Superman The Golden Age Omnibus Vol. 3 - 699

What would be considered good, great, etc.numbers for an omnibus? And does anyone know the best selling and worst?
My interest lies in the Bendis book because I would like to see a volume 2 but I don't recall him getting a volume 2 on any of his work (although Ultimate Spider-Man did bookend the title).
Also, if I'm not mistaken, Guardians might have been $125 (Guardians tax) and Superman was probably in the $75 range. Not sure about rebirth's price tag.
    Thanks for publishing the list.

I would say a figure of at least 1000 units is a pretty good figure. A great result would be 1500+ and a fantastic result would be north of 2000. These are of course my personal views but I would think others opinions would not differ much from mine.

The Bendis GoG Omni was $125. For comparison, here are several other $125 Omnis and their premiere month figures:

    Uncanny X-Men Vol. 3 – 2,308
    Shang-Chi Master of Kung Fu Vol. 1 – 2,232
Deadly Hands of Kung Fu Vol. 1 – 2,064
    Infinty Gauntlet– 1,837
The Mighty Thor by Walt Simonson– 1,612
Fantastic Four by John Byrne Vol. 2 – 1,509
    Annihilation Conquest – 1,396
    War of Kings – 1,396
    Annihilation– 1,363
    Werewolf by Night– 1,347
Fantastic Four by John Byrne Vol. 1 - 1,145
    Spider-Man by Roger Stern – 1,135
    X-Men by Claremont & Lee Vol. 1 – 1,104
    Spider-Man The Clone Saga – 1,012
    X-Statix - 819
Golden Age Captain America Vol. 1 – 769
    New Avengers Vol. 1 (Bendis) - 756
    Powers Vol. 1(Bendis) - 560

Daredevil By Miller and Janson Omnibus - 3rd Printing!!! - 863

One could use the argument that the Bendis GoG material was already published not so long ago in OHCs. But look at another $125 Omni such as the Sider-Man Clone Saga Omni. That material is available in TPBs and still getting reprints. Also, the Hawkeye Omni was printed shortly after the Hawkeye OHCs saw print, but the Omni still managed to shift 1,682 units. A similar case with the Deadpool Posehn & Duggan run in Omni moving 1,286 copies. Granted, the latter 2 were priced at $100, but still they sold more or less twice the amount than the Bendis GoG Omni.

Even the 3rd Printing of the Daredevil Miller Janson Omni priced at $125 achieved a higher figure of 863! X-Statix and New Avengers had similar but higher figures than the Bendis GoG Omni, and they both went on clearance what seemed like forever. Only recently has the X-Statix Omni achieved OOP status and that was 5 years after its release. I suspect the Guardians of the Galaxy by Bendis Omnibus Vol. 1 will be another candidate for the remainder and clearance clubs.

Damn, nice research and some eye-opening numbers about Bendis. His Powers and New Avengers were in OHC for awhile before the omnibus. I did actually get the NA omnibus since I had none of the collection at the time and then got the OHCs. I didn't get the one for Powers since I have the OHCs.

Anything on his Ultimate SM omnibus collections? Surely his Daredevil did well? I hope. Maybe Alias? I don't know.

If seems - without knowing those - that he's not selling omnibus collections all too well.

On the surface that doesn't bode well for a vol. 2 of Guardians.

But, Marvel continues to pimp his stuff, so I certainly would not be surprised if he gets at least one X-Men omnibus collection by the end of the year.

On a side note, I wonder how the rest of the Kung Fu and Clone Saga stuff will do. Seems like people are starting to grow disenchanted with the Kung Fu after sitting down and reading it, and, well, the Clone Saga, just got worse and worse as time went on.

Regardless, I hope Marvel finishes them, whether they sell or not because a commitment for them means that I might stick on board for something else.

To echo what some have said recently, it sucks that they only did one New Warriors book. That was a fun book. Wish we'd get a follow.

Extremely dismal results for an extremely dismal book . I'm so happy Bendis is almost done with this mess of a series. I am quite looking forward to Duggan taking over the Guardians when it relaunches.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving writer or series. Can't wait for Duggan to come in and fix everything.

The idea of Drax trying to not kill everything is pretty great.

Agreed. I absolutely cannot wait for Bendis to get his grubby hands off of the Guardians and stop ruining it.
